Flexible scheduling gives you the opportunity to balance work, personal life and artistic practice. Choose from a range of specializations and take your work in the direction you choose. While earning your MFA, you'll connect with other writers at readings and other events in an artistic community that extends beyond the University into Chicago's vibrant literary scene.

Choose from specializations in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, popular fiction, publishing and professional development. A dual-genre option also is offered.
Complete 15 courses and earn your MFA. Convenient evening classes allow for a balance of work, personal life and artistic practice.
