FOREST CAFE IS LOOKING FOR A KITCHEN MANAGER!!!!
Hiring: Kitchen Manager
The Forest is a community arts space and volunteer run cafe, the running of the is effectively split into three groups: volunteers, Night managers and Kitchen managers. Volunteers are responsible for most of the ‘frontline’ work in the cafe including customer service, food preparation and keeping the cafe running well. Night managers are longer term volunteers with greater responsibilities and look after the cafe in the evenings from 7pm - 11pm. As a Kitchen manager you will be working closely with both of these groups, but are responsible for much more, a preliminary list is set out below but more can be explained at the interview.
Work as a Kitchen manager is demanding, dynamic and a significant responsibility within a large and diverse community, however it is rewarding and one of the best jobs in the city. Previous experience working in management, kitchens, arts spaces and in diverse communities is a significant plus to any application alongside an understanding of what the Forest is and how it operates.
If you have any questions, please pop into the cafe and ask to talk about the role. Even if you have never been involved with the Forest before you could still have a very strong application.

Forest 15th Birthday Party!
It’s never happened before and it’ll never happen again. We’re celebrating our last half-price bus tickets and our first action films in the cinema, because Forest just turned 15.
Festivities are split between a banquet at the café until 8pm, then a late-night boogie in a secret(ish) nearby cavernous basement. We can tell you it’s huge, it’s collectively run, it’s 5 minutes from Forest, and we can make some ACTUAL NOISE!
Forest has loved you for 15 years
