Now over to Ron –

HELLO!
This is my first proper website update for more than quite a while, and then some. Many apologies and please blame my e-ignorance and my skill at procrastination.  Also, I’ve been very hard at work!

In the last few months I have completed 3 new books that will be published next year – A Billionaires’ Banquet (novel), Steve & FranDan Take on the World (teen novel) and Troll Day! (verse for children).

Writing for kids is a new venture and I enjoy it so much! Especially going to schools and festivals. It’s the beginnings of my second childhood, let’s hope! 3 books finished and accepted – all very exciting, and I’m a bit whacked at present.

In the meantime, my new novel, Ghost Moon, four years in the writing, (Salt Publishing) was nominated for the International Impac Dublin Literary Award for 2016 – certainly one of the biggest prizes in the world. I was delighted – and utterly gobsmacked! The novel received great reviews in the Independent and the TLS among others, including a most unexpected five star thumbs-up in the Daily Mail. The Guardian featured a piece by me, telling the novel’s true-life back story.

As well as giving readings recently here and there, I appeared at four events in this year’s Edinburgh International Book Festival and again did a run of shows with jazz musicians Dick Lee and Anne Evans on the Edinburgh Fringe (5* star reviews!)

A totally new venture: Immediately after an off-the-cuff speech I gave at a Back Room Dinner, I was approached and then signed up on the spot by an agency specialising in public speakers! I’m now on the books with John Sargeant, Brian Taylor and other media and sports stars. I’ve been dining and speaking ever since! See my immodest page on the agency http://www.tmcentertainment.co.uk/speaker-index.html?speakerid=869&speakertypeid=37
(Contact – Speak Out: 0131-440-9226). Please feel free to book me!
