NIGERIANS HAVE SHORT MEMORY that is why we always run into trouble by repeating the same mistakes. For more than a decade the Niger Delta was on fire, Gen. Abacha, Gen. Abubakar, Gen Obasanjo and even Gen. Dambazau (as NSA to late Yar'Adua) all fought Niger Delta militancy without success. In the end amnesty was granted to the militants who almost crippled the Nigerian economy.
Most of these militants supported GEJ during the last presidential election, many of them are yet to recover from the loss. During electioneering there were all kind of stories about weapons build up, even Obasanjo wrote a letter accusing GEJ of training ethnic militias. APC propaganda channels claimed that through GEJ, Tompolo bought warships from Ukraine. Where have all these weapons disappeared to after the elections?
Boko Haram held Nigeria ransom for six years yet our economy was growing at an average of 6% every year. Militants bombed pipelines just last weekend and yesterday spokesman for the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing said that:
“at a cost of $2.50 per thousand scf, this loss means about $400,000 loss to the country on a daily basis (N78,800,000 daily) in gas volume. This is in addition to losses to be incurred daily from affected Power generation ($1,988,223 or N391,680,000 daily). The total daily loss to the country is therefore estimated at N470,479,931. Repairs of the damaged pipeline is estimated as costing ($609,137 or N120,000.000)”.
What would happen to Nigerian economy if hostilities enter full scale in the Niger Delta? Now that Buhari's EFCC has moved to agitate Tompolo what do you expect other MEND leaders like Asari, Boyloaf etc to do.....do you expect them to wait till EFCC gets to them or do you expect them to start preparing for attack. IS THIS THE BEST TIME FOR BUHARI TO START WAR IN NIGER DELTA? Are we moving forward or we are going backwards??

Militant group Delta Avengers numb activity in Nigeria’s oil fields
There are rising concerns in Nigeria over conflict in the oil-producing Niger Delta. The latest incident saw four policemen gunned down on Monday. It's still unclear who's behind the attack. Militancy has been on the increase in the region. Piracy is another major concern. Both have led to more kidnappings, hijackings, and attacks on oil pipelines. It's been affecting the country's oil output, which is key to the economy. Communities in the Niger Delta have long been calling for a bigger share of oil revenues.

Boko Haram held Nigeria ransom for six years yet our economy was growing at an average of 6% every year. Militants bombed pipelines just last weekend and yesterday spokesman for the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing said that:
“at a cost of $2.50 per thousand scf, this loss means about $400,000 loss to the country on a daily basis (N78,800,000 daily) in gas volume. This is in addition to losses to be incurred daily from affected Power generation ($1,988,223 or N391,680,000 daily). The total daily loss to the country is therefore estimated at N470,479,931. Repairs of the damaged pipeline is estimated as costing ($609,137 or N120,000.000)”.
What would happen to Nigerian economy if hostilities enter full scale in the Niger Delta? Now that Buhari's EFCC has moved to agitate Tompolo what do you expect other MEND leaders like Asari, Boyloaf etc to do.....do you expect them to wait till EFCC gets to them or do you expect them to start preparing for attack. IS THIS THE BEST TIME FOR BUHARI TO START WAR IN NIGER DELTA? Are we moving forward or we are going backwards??

This book examines literary depictions of the construction and destruction of the armored male body in combat in relation to early modern English understandings of the past. Bringing together the fields of material culture and militarism, Susan Harlan argues that the notion of spoiling or the sanctioned theft of the arms and armor of the vanquished in battle provides a way of thinking about Englands relationship to its violent cultural inheritance. She demonstrates how writers reconstituted the spoils of antiquity and the Middle Ages in an imagined military struggle between male bodies. An analysis of scenes of arming and disarming across texts by Christopher Marlowe and William Shakespeare and tributes to Sir Philip Sidney reveals a pervasive militant nostalgia: a cultural fascination with moribund models and technologies of war. Readers will not only gain a better understanding of humanism but also a new way of thinking about violence and cultural production in Renaissance England.
