Has the news media really changed that much since 1957?
Instead of pitching cigarettes, they shill for the Pentagon, the oil companies, Big Food, Big Banks, and legions of other corporate and government con artists. The evening news is routinely sponsored by Lockheed, Boeing and the rest of their ilk.
The difference is these days they package the ads as "news."
