Beacon Street is a major thoroughfare in Boston, Massachusetts and several of its western suburbs. It goes through Boston, Brookline, Brighton, and Newton.
It is not to be confused with the Beacon Street in nearby Somerville, or others elsewhere.
Beacon Street begins as a one-way street from the intersection of Tremont Street and School Street. From this point it rises up Beacon Hill for a block where it meets Park Street in front of the Massachusetts State House. From that intersection it descends Beacon Hill as a two-lane, bi-directional street until it reaches Charles Street. At Charles Street it becomes a one-way avenue that runs through the Back Bay neighborhood until it reaches Kenmore Square.
From Kenmore Square, Beacon Street skirts the area around Fenway Park and follows a southwesterly slant through Brookline along either side of MBTA Green Line trolley tracks to Cleveland Circle in Brighton. From there it passes Boston College as it winds its way to the city of Newton, where it crosses Centre Street to form the defining intersection of Newton Centre, meets Walnut Street at "Four Corners" near the Newton Cemetery, and goes through Waban at its intersection with Woodward Street. It ends at Washington Street near Boston's circumferential highway, Route 128.
No Doubt is an American rock band from Anaheim, California, that formed in 1986. Since 1994, the group has consisted of vocalist Gwen Stefani, bassist and keyboardist Tony Kanal, guitarist and keyboardist Tom Dumont, and drummer Adrian Young. Since the mid-1990s in live performances and the studio, they have been supported by keyboardist and trombonist Gabrial McNair and keyboardist and trumpeter Stephen Bradley.
The ska sound of their first album No Doubt (1992) failed to make an impact. The Beacon Street Collection (1995) is a raw expression of their sound, inspired by ska punk and released independently by the band under their own record label. The album sold over 100,000 copies in 1995, over three times as many as their first album sold. The band's diamond-certified album Tragic Kingdom (1995) helped launch the third-wave ska revival of the 1990s, and "Don't Speak", the third single from the album, set a record when it spent 16 weeks at the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart.
The Beacon may refer to:
The Beacon Street Collection is the second studio album by American rock band No Doubt, released in March 1995. It was released independently by the band under their own record label, Beacon Street Records. It was produced by No Doubt themselves and recorded in a homemade recording studio in the garage of their house on Beacon Avenue in Anaheim, California, from which the album takes its name. Additional recording and mixing were done at Clear Lake Audio in North Hollywood, California with engineer Colin "Dog" Mitchell.
The album was released during a time in which the band were receiving little attention from their record label, Interscope Records, and were not getting a chance to record a second album. Interscope were disillusioned with the band after the commercial failure of their first album, No Doubt. No Doubt had written large numbers of songs and knew that they would not make it onto any Interscope album, so they built their own studio and recorded the album there. Two singles were released from it: "Squeal" and "Doghouse" on 7-inch vinyl.
Doubt characterises a status in which the mind remains suspended between two contradictory propositions and unable to assent to either of them Doubt on an emotional level is indecision between belief and disbelief. Doubt involves uncertainty, distrust or lack of sureness of an alleged fact, an action, a motive, or a decision. Doubt questions a notion of a perceived "reality", and may involve delaying or rejecting relevant action out of concerns for mistakes or faults or appropriateness. (compare paradox).
The concept of doubt as a suspense between two contradictory propositions covers a range of phenomena: on a level of the mind it involves reasoning, examination of facts and evidence and on an emotional level believing and disbelief.
In premodern theology doubt was "the voice of an uncertain conscience" and important to realize, because when in doubt "the safer way is not to act at all".
Doubt sometimes tends to call on reason. Doubt may encourage people to hesitate before acting, and/or to apply more rigorous methods. Doubt may have particular importance as leading towards disbelief or non-acceptance.
That's Just Me by No Doubt off their album The Beacon Street Collection released independently in 1995 and worldwide in 1997. I do not own any of the material; all right go to the respective owners.

Come along with me, Tyler Evans Rock Journalist, as we take a trek down Beacon Avenue to check out the old No Doubt House! This small Beacon Avenue location was once home to Gwen and Eric Stefani. From the late 80s to the mid 90s, No Doubt practiced, recorded and hung out at this house. When Interscope Records was dragging their feet on a second record for No Doubt, they built a studio in the garage of this house and recorded what came to be known as "The Beacon Street Collection." On the strength of their DIY, home recorded effort, Interscope green-lit another album for No Doubt, which we know today as "Tragic Kingdom." The home still stands today, relatively unchanged. It is important to note, though, that it is now privately owned and shouldn't be disturbed. If you enjoyed this vide...
This song has been taken from "The Beacon Street Collection" album (1995)
No Doubt performing "Greener Pastures" from 'The Beacon Street Collection' live in Kalsruhe, Germany for Wild World Weekend back on January 3, 1997.
No Doubt's "By The Way" performed acoustically live on the 'Tragic Kingdom' tour in Barcelona, Space. This version is found on the band's "Sunday Morning" import single.
Written by Eric Stefani and recorded during No Doubt's demo sessions for their debut album, "Up Yours" was released solely on the compilation 'California Skaquake' in 1992 by Moon Records. Though live versions usually featured this song as a duet between vocalists Gwen Stefani and Alan Meade, the recorded version only has Gwen on the track.

This is my winter song to you The storm is coming soon It rolls in from the sea My voice, a beacon in the night My words will be your light To carry you to me Is love alive? Is love alive? Is love... They say that things just cannot grow Beneath the winter snow Or so I have been told They say we're buried far Just like a distant star I simply cannot hold Is love alive? Is love alive? Is love alive? This is my winter song December never felt so wrong 'Cause you're not where you belong Inside my arms Bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum Bum bum bum bum bum bum Bum bum bum bum bum bum I still believe in summer days The seasons always change And life will find a way I'll be your harvester of light And send it out tonight So we can start again Is lo...
You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house. Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father. (Mt. 5: 14 - 16)

You're always tellin' me to go out more
Go ahead, get out and see the world
But then I think, why should I
I'd rather stay home and cry
I never thought that I could be the other
The other way like the other ones
Let me open wide, let you see inside
And then you might agree
Would you say they find me unstable
'Cause they see me act a little bit different?
But I know my way to greener pastures and
Think about it, won't you think it over, please?
Without you I can move
Well I can stretch my arms out, I can feel it
And when I'm in my room alone I feel good
Because I don't have to deal with you or the outside world
Would you say they find me unstable
'Cause they see me act a little bit different?
But I know my way to greener pastures and
Think about it, won't you think it over, please?
I guess I'll get over it
Ooh, I guess I'll get over it
I guess I'll get over it
I guess I'll get over it
Would you say they find me unstable
'Cause they see me act a little bit different?
But I know my way through greener pastures
Would you say they find me unstable
'Cause they see me act a little bit different?
But I know my way through greener pastures
Would you say they find me unstable
'Cause they see me act a little bit different?
But I know my way through greener pastures
Greener pastures
See me act a little bit different
But I know my way through greener pastures
