Documentary series filmed over seven months looking at life behind the scenes at the UK's biggest airport. In the first episode, heavy fog throws the terminal into turmoil.

Heathrow Airport is a major international airport in west London, England. Heathrow is the busiest airport in the United Kingdom, busiest airport in Europe by passenger traffic, and third busiest airport in the world by total passenger traffic. In 2014, it handled a record 73.4 million passengers, a 1.4 percent increase from 2013.
Heathrow lies 12 nautical miles (22 km; 14 mi) west of Central London, and has two parallel east–west runways along with four operational terminals on a site that covers 12.14 square kilometres (4.69 sq mi). The airport is owned and operated by Heathrow Airport Holdings, which itself is owned by FGP TopCo Limited, an international consortium led by the Spanish Ferrovial Group that includes Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and Government of Singapore Investment Corporation. Heathrow is the primary hub for British Airways and the primary operating base for Virgin Atlantic.
In September 2012, the UK government established the Airports Commission, an independent commission chaired by Sir Howard Davies to examine various options for increasing capacity at UK airports. The commission shortlisted two options for expanding Heathrow in its interim report in 2013, along with a third option for expanding Gatwick Airport. The final report, published on 1 July 2015, backed a third runway at Heathrow.

A typically grey Autumn afternoon at London Heathrow Airport. Easterly operations meaning RWY09L being used for arrivals and a cold wind bringing the Scandinavian chill across to the UK!
Some very nice surprises this day, without even realising it, this day was the first day Finnair operated their brand new A350 into Heathrow so when I found out that was due at around 17:45 I figured I'd wait and see it!
In the mean time though a great variety of other heavies, lots of variants of A380's and a unexpected arrival from the Royal Brunei Government Airbus A340!

Britain's Busiest Airport Heathrow Departures.
Britains Busiest Airport: Heathrow New Documentary series going behind the scenes of the airport, finding out how its infrastructure helps staff process thousands of passengers arriving from 84 different countries around the globe.
This episode follows Heathrow staff trying to process 100,000 departing passengers a day, and get their flights away on time. Dispatcher Callie and Ramp Manager Steve have their plans thrown into chaos by a passenger who disappears after checking on to their flight. In Security, Sundeep and his team have to search an unusually dressed traveller, and deal with a man who is unhappy about having his bag searched. Meanwhile, Heathrow’s extradition team ensures police suspects are put on departing flights, while paparazzi photographer Kate is on the lookout for celebrities flying through the airport.

A rather wet, grey afternoon at London Heathrow Airport. Decided to head down to Myrtle Avenue to catch some RWY27L afternoon arrivals, despite the weather managed to get some good footage. Didn't do too badly I guess, in regards to the weather a few sudden downpours but then within minutes the sun was out again and it was quite warm again. A typical "British" summer I guess.
I've included airline, aircraft and origin on screen for you.
But here's what to expect:
BA 747's, A380's 787's & 777's, Virgin A340-600, A330 & 787's, Kuwait Airways 747, Gulf Air A330, American Airlines 777, TAM 777, PIA 777, Korean Air A380, Turkish A330's, Japan Airlines 777, ANA 777, Royal Jordanian A330, Singapore Airlines A380, Avianca A330, Kenya Airways 787, Ethiopian 787, AeroMexico 787, Saudia 777, Malaysian A380 and Emirates A380!
The Emirates A380 reg A6-EUA is less than 2 months old, Emirates third newest A380.
I also included a Bulgaria Air Embraer 190, just because I've not seen one at LHR before. So amidst the heavies, expect that. Haha!
An arrival from just about every side of the planet, all that within just over 2 hours. Can't beat Heathrow for its variety.

Decided to head down to Myrtle Avenue to catch some RWY27L afternoon arrivals, despite the weather managed to get some good footage. Didn't do too badly I guess, in regards to the weather a few sudden downpours but then within minutes the sun was out again and it was quite warm again. A typical "British" summer I guess. A typically grey Autumn afternoon at London Heathrow Airport. Easterly operations meaning RWY09L being used for arrivals and a cold wind bringing the Scandinavian chill across to the UK!
Some very nice surprises this day, without even realising it, this day was the first day Finnair operated their brand new A350 into Heathrow so when I found out that was due at around 17:45 I figured I'd wait and see it!
In the mean time though a great variety of other heavies, lots of variants of A380's and a unexpected arrival from the Royal Brunei Government Airbus A340!

Now, I know exactly what you're all gonna say, or think, the video is too long! Well, for your info I have left the time stamps of everything interesting below, that includes the 787's, A350's, A380's and more! If you can't watch the whole video, no one is forcing you either! So please take your time and try to enjoy it. Also yes I know there are tonnes of trees, lamp posts, lorries etc in the way, but there is nothing I can do, this is quite a decent spot for 09 Arrivals, in which you can see some of the touchdowns, more so than you can at Myrtle Avenue, please enjoy seeing the planes and ignore the obstructions as they are really minor!
Anyhow, this was a slight change of plan to what I originally intended, I had planned that week to do a video of departures, but the forecast suggested easterly winds, which meant RW09L and 09R would be active, so I decided to get there just a tad bit earlier to catch the morning arrivals and the sunrise of course, that also meant the first time I had filmed in near enough proper darkness as it took an hour or so from filming to get light. So some nice night footage here as well, followed by the beauty of a sunrise.
Some very interesting movements in this one two, Air Malta A320 go-around and a temporary suspension of departures on 09R due to an apparent intruder who got onto the runway. Couldn't see the action sadly but did get the queue of traffic and the Go around on 09R, in addition this was also the first time I have ever seen two A350's land within 2 hours of eachover, quite rare at LHR currently. American Airlines also sent their first 787-9 in, a one off trip for this beauty, fortunately it landed in post daylight hours, light enough for you to see it

Now, I know exactly what you're all gonna say, or think, the video is too long! Well, for your info I have left the time stamps of everything interesting below, that includes the 787's, A350's, A380's and more! If you can't watch the whole video, no one is forcing you either! So please take your time and try to enjoy it. Also yes I know there are tonnes of trees, lamp posts, lorries etc in the way, but there is nothing I can do, this is quite a decent spot for 09 Arrivals, in which you can see some of the touchdowns, more so than you can at Myrtle Avenue, please enjoy seeing the planes and ignore the obstructions as they are really minor!
Anyhow, this was a slight change of plan to what I originally intended, I had planned that week to do a video of departures, but the forecast suggested easterly winds, which meant RW09L and 09R would be active, so I decided to get there just a tad bit earlier to catch the morning arrivals and the sunrise of course, that also meant the first time I had filmed in near enough proper darkness as it took an hour or so from filming to get light. So some nice night footage here as well, followed by the beauty of a sunrise.
Some very interesting movements in this one two, Air Malta A320 go-around and a temporary suspension of departures on 09R due to an apparent intruder who got onto the runway. Couldn't see the action sadly but did get the queue of traffic and the Go around on 09R, in addition this was also the first time I have ever seen two A350's land within 2 hours of eachover, quite rare at LHR currently. American Airlines also sent their first 787-9 in, a one off trip for this beauty, fortunately it landed in post daylight hours, light enough for you to see it
