Manage your family group

If you're the family manager, you can invite up to 5 people to your family group. If someone leaves your family group, or an invitation that you sent expires in two weeks, you'll be able to send more invitations. If you have any invitations that are pending, you can cancel them to invite someone else.

For a family member to join, they need to be 13 or older, have a Google Account, and live in the same country as you.

1. Open the Play Store app .
2. In the top left, tap Menu Account Family Manage family members Invite family members.
3. Type the email address or phone number of the person you want to invite.
4. Tap Send. You'll get an email notification when someone joins your family.

If you're the family manager, you can remove people from your family group at any time.

What happens when someone is removed from your family group

• The person you remove from your family group will still keep their Google Account and any content they purchased using the family payment method.
• The person you remove will get an email notification letting them know they've been removed.
• The person you remove won't be able to make new purchases using the family payment method, or access any family features.
• If purchases they made using the family payment method are pending, you'll still be charged for them. However, you can request a refund for unwanted or accidental purchases.
• Any content they added to the Family Library will be removed, and other family members will lose access that content.
• The person you remove will lose access to anything in your Family Library.

Remove someone from your family group

1. Open the Play Store app .
2. In the top left, tap Menu Account Family Manage family members.
3. Tap the name of the family member you want to remove from your family group.
4. In the top right, tap More Remove member Remove.

If you're the family manager, you can delete your family group.

What happens when you delete your family group

• Everyone from your family group keeps their Google Accounts and anything they purchased using the family payment method.
• Everyone from your family group loses access to the Family Library content that other family members added.
• If any purchases they made using the family payment method are pending, you'll still be charged for them. However, you can request a refund for unwanted or accidental purchases.
• You can only switch families once a year. If you delete your family group, you'll only be able to create or join another family group once in the next 12 months.

Delete your family group

1. Open the Play Store app .
2. In the top left, tap Menu   Account Family Manage family members.
3. In the top right, tap More Delete family group > Delete.

If you're the family manager, you have to delete your family group before you can join a new one.

Note: You can only change family groups once per year. If you join a new family group, you won’t be able to join another one for 12 months.
