Lakeside Shopping Centre, branded as Intu Lakeside, is a large out-of-town shopping centre located in West Thurrock, in the borough of Thurrock, Essex just beyond the eastern boundary of Greater London. It was constructed on the site of a former chalk quarry. The first tenants moved into the complex in 1988 and it was completed in 1990, being opened on 25 October of that year by Princess Alexandra, The Honourable Lady Ogilvy, Marcus Bradford and Angus Ogilvy.
The shopping centre, in addition to the retail parks, forms one of the largest shopping areas in a single location within Europe, with almost 2,600,000 square feet (240,000 m2) of retail space on a site of 200 acres (0.81 km2). The community of Chafford Hundred has grown to the east of the centre since its opening. Its main rival is the Bluewater Shopping Centre in Greenhithe, Kent, just across the River Thames.
The centre was rebranded as "intu Lakeside" in 2013 following the renaming of parent Capital Shopping Centres Group plc as "intu properties plc".
A shopping mall is a modern, chiefly North American, term for a form of shopping precinct or shopping center, in which one or more buildings form a complex of shops representing merchandisers with interconnecting walkways that enable customers to walk from unit to unit. A shopping arcade is a specific form serving the same purpose. Many early shopping arcades such the Burlington Arcade in London, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan and numerous arcades in Paris are famous and still trading. However, many smaller arcades have been demolished, replaced with large centers or "malls", often accessible by vehicle. Technical innovations such as electric lighting and escalators were introduced from the late 19th century. From the late 20th century, entertainment venues such as movie theaters and restaurants began to be added. As a single built structure, early shopping centers were often architecturally significant constructions, enabling wealthier patrons to buy goods in spaces protected from the weather.

One of the best things to do in Da Lat is to have a nice comfortable meal inside of a French Villa when you're in the highlands. The French built a whole slew of villas to escape the hot lowland summers of Saigon. In fact, there used to be a train station and rails that connected the two. The food itself was pretty average, don't expect fine French dining there. We only went there because it was raining too much and had to stop somewhere because we were starving. To get here, just go to the French Quarter. It's one of the only few restaurants around that street. You can't miss it. Before dinner, Ngoc and I traveled to Elephant Falls which is about 30 kilometers away from the city center. The trek down was difficult at times and rather slippery from the rain. We saw very few tourists there....
There are many things to do in Da Lat. Here are some options for you in just one day. Of course you're going to stop for meals too, but I've omitted. Also note the rain showers and how that can affect your day. The first thing you should do is have breakfast at the Da Lat Market on the second level. A wide variety of noodle and rice dishes with drinks are available for order. Then, visit a strawberry farm to buy some gifts for friends. There's no need to visit any flower or plant stores unless you plan to buy some. There's not much to see. I do recommend visiting the mysterious spinning wooden table. It really does spin on its own when you say or think a direction. The crazy house is worth exploring for a few hours, unfortunately it was raining so hard and we didn't want to get the camera ...
Vietnam's famous island, Phu Quoc, has a lot to offer. Most people will come for its beautiful beaches along some spectacular coastline. My friends and I rented motorbikes (the best way to ger around the island) and we rode to the Phu Quoc Prison aka the Coconut Prison. This was where the French and Americans would keep and torture political prisoners. Lots of surreal and gut wrenching imagery there, but well worth the visit. Then I found myself on Phu Quoc's many beaches. I forgot which one. Maybe Long Beach somewhere. Either way, it was beginning to get dark. The best and only place to go during night time is the Phu Quoc Night Market. This i where you'll have a chance to try some delicious and fresh seafood. The common items were on par, like the octopus was really refined. However, ...

Dalat is a mid-sized city that looks like a cross between Vietnam and the French Alps. Outside of the city centre, it is surrounded by a series of pine-covered hills, lakes, and higher peaks, making for some lovely scenery quite different from the rest of Vietnam. Temperatures are pleasantly warm by day, and quite cool at night, down to perhaps 10 degrees Celsius. Be aware that during summer months, rain comes at least once a day and can sometimes dictate the mood and activities you are planning.
