Perth's run of extra hot weather looks set to come to an end on Sunday - for a while at least.
With Saturday's maximum forecast at 37 degrees, Sunday will feel a lot cooler at 31.
The forecast for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is for maximums of 28 and 29 degrees, rising a little to 30 for Thursday and back down to 29 again on Friday.
The UV index Saturday points to "extreme" and people are warned to wear sun protective clothing and sunscreen.
Beach goers should be aware that white sand reflects UV rays and will increase UV exposure.
Meanwhile, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services has issued a bushfire advice for people travelling on Great Northern Highway approximately 55 kilometres north of Newman.
There is no threat to lives or homes but there is a lot of smoke in the area. People in the area have been warned to keep up to date with the latest information about the fire in case the situation changes.
DFES also issued a severe fire danger warning for parts of the Midwest Gascoyne Region.
The affected area includes Geraldton, Carnarvon, Chapman Valley, Dandaragan, Meekatharra, Northampton, Shark Bay, Wiluna and Yalgoo.
The weather conditions are described as very hot, dry and windy. If a fire starts and takes hold it will be unpredictable and will move very fast.
