Underworld played RFH in October. But ahead of that and the re-release of Dubnobasswithmyeadman they released this Underworld vs. The Misterons hour long track/mix. I said:
You don’t need me to tell you how good this landmark 1994 album was, albeit that I was less taken with it than D was at the time. But time has been kinder to it than some of the other releases of that era. Alongside the release is an hour’s worth of streaming stuff saved from the cutting room floor “While compiling the 20th anniversary edition of “dubnobass…” the misterons kept a watchful eye on the music that never made the official release… Here’s a peak at what they found.” It’s a quite brilliant, often quite laid back, companion to the proper release
October saw the much-awaited (by me, anyway) return of Ukkonen. New releases were accompanied by the disappointing news that this may be the last we hear of him, barring a comp of previously unreleased stuff. And with tracks like Terophase, this is very much our loss. I said “Terophase is a lovely bit of ambient. A bit Global Communication, with everything just a little bit out of phase but pastorally gentle.”
The Underworld stuff is great
