It's a love story straight from the movies.

When Amy Giberson, 34, and Justin Pounders, 34, connected on Match.com and met for their first date shortly after – the spark was instant. What the pair didn't realise, however, until a year later, was that they'd been "preschool sweethearts" - 30 years before!

"I truly feel it was fate!"  Giberson told PEOPLE, of their love story "Our hearts met at the age of 3 and we had our own journeys to go through for 30 years, but ultimately our hearts were meant to love each other."

On November 18 the couple – who met at Sunshine Pre-K in Florida –tied the knot in front of their 200 guests.

"He is my world and I love him more than I could ever describe," Giberson told PEOPLE of her new husband. "Marrying Justin is my dream come true …"

It wasn't until a year into their blossoming romance that Giberson and Pounders realised they'd known one another as children.

"We were in the car," Giberson told PEOPLE and Justin casually mentioned that he loved my name because he had had a crush on a girl named Amy in his preschool," she says.

When the pair realised they'd both attended the same preschool at the same time, they asked their parents to dig up their old school photos.

"Justin's mum found a photo of the two of us together," Giberson said, "and I just started crying, I was ecstatic. I was the Amy he had liked all those years ago! It was definitely meant to be."

The couple's former teacher, and former owner of the preschool, Diana Twar, told PEOPLE that she remembered their "sweet crush".

"They had a blast with each other," she said. "It was a quiet, bashful romance. They liked each other from afar, it was a young love …They insisted on sitting next to each other in our school picture."

The newlyweds hope their story will inspire others to keep their hearts open to love.

"Every minute of every day, I thank my lucky stars," said Giberson. "The amount of coincidences and connections we've uncovered through our years together is unbelievable."
