Harry Potter

Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels and one play written by British author J. K. Rowling. The series chronicles the life of a young wizard, Harry Potter, and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The main story arc concerns Harry's struggle against the Dark wizard Lord Voldemort, who aims to become immortal, overthrow the Ministry of Magic, subjugate non-magic people and destroy anyone who stands in his way.

Since the release of the first novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, on 30 June 1997, the books have gained immense popularity, critical acclaim and commercial success worldwide. They attracted a wide adult audience, and have remained one of the preeminent cornerstones of young adult literature. The series has also had some share of criticism, including concern about the increasingly dark tone as the series progressed, as well as the often gruesome and graphic violence depicted in the series. As of July 2013, the books have sold more than 450 million copies worldwide, making the series the best-selling book series in history, and have been translated into 73 languages. The last four books consecutively set records as the fastest-selling books in history, with the final instalment selling roughly 11 million copies in the United States within the first 24 hours of its release.

Après

Après is a studio album of mostly French covers by Iggy Pop. It was released on 9 May 2012 on Thousand Mile Inc after the album was rejected by Virgin EMI Records. Pop described the album's rejection as 'humiliating', saying that his record company would have 'preferred that I do a rock album with popular punks'. The album has been described as containing 'Crooning vocals, Cole Porter covers, soft melodies, and an all-around sense of everything suave.'.

Le Havre

Le Havre (UK /ləˈhɑːvrə/;French pronunciation: [lə ɑvʁ]) is an urban French commune and city in the Seine-Maritime department in the Normandy region of north-western France. It is situated on the right bank of the estuary of the river Seine on the Channel south-west of the Pays de Caux.

Modern Le Havre remains deeply influenced by its employment and maritime traditions. Its port is the second largest in France, after that of Marseille, for total traffic, and the largest French container port. The name Le Havre means "the harbour" or "the port". Its inhabitants are known as Havrais or Havraises.

Administratively the commune is located in the Upper Normandy region and, with Dieppe, is one of the two sub-prefectures of the Seine-Maritime department. Le Havre is the capital of the canton and since 1974 has been the see of the diocese of Le Havre.

Le Havre is the most populous commune of Upper Normandy, although the total population of the greater Le Havre conurbation is smaller than that of Rouen. It is also the second largest subprefecture in France (after Reims).

Annie Mac

Annie MacManus (born 18 July 1978), popularly known as Annie Mac, is an Irish DJ and television presenter. She is known as the eponymous host of the electronic dance music show Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1 in the United Kingdom, which airs at 7:00 pm on Friday evenings, as well as host of the 7:00 - 9:00 pm slot Monday - Thursdays formerly hosted by Zane Lowe.

Personal life

Annie Mac was born in Dublin, Ireland. After attending Wesley College, she studied English Literature at Queens University, in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Annie lives in Queen's Park, London. She has a son (born May 2013) with her partner, fellow BBC Radio 1 DJ Toddla T. Her brother, Davey MacManus, was the lead singer and guitarist in bands, The Crocketts and The Crimea.

Career

Annie Mac's first Radio 1 show was broadcast on 29 July 2004. She had been a producer at Radio 1 before this and was heard as a voice for jingles on the station at least as far back as February 2004.

Her first live set at the station was at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Dundee in May 2006 as part of the Essential Mix live broadcast. Annie remarked on air at the time how it was the first time they had trusted her to do a live mix.
