María Valenzuela

María del Carmen Valenzuela (born June 16, 1956) is an Argentine actress. She has worked in several Argentine TV programs, mainly soap operas.

Biography

Valenzuela played in many soap operas such as La cuñada, Vos y yo toda la vida, Barracas al sur, El infiel, El tema es el amor, Costumbres argentinas and Dulce Amor. She also appeared in some episodes of the TV program Alta comedia. She was married to the Argentine journalist Juan Carlos Mendizábal. She has three children with him. Mendizábal died of liver cancer in late 2011.

Marie biscuit

A Marie is a type of sweet biscuit similar to a Rich tea biscuit. While the Rich tea biscuit is the most popular version of this biscuit in the United Kingdom and the Isle of Man, it is the Marie version that is most popular in most other countries, particularly Australia, Canada, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Portugal, Spain, Ukraine, Russia, Mexico, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Brazil, Uruguay, Mauritius, Japan, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Panama, and Egypt.

Description

The biscuit is round and usually has its name embossed upon its top surface, the edges of which are also embossed with an intricate design. It is made with wheat flour, sugar, palm oil or sunflower seed oil and, unlike the Rich tea biscuit, is typically vanilla flavoured. In Norway it is labelled "Palm oil free" (Uten palmeolje).

History

The Marie biscuit was created by the London bakery Peek Freans in 1874 to commemorate the marriage of the Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna of Russia to the Duke of Edinburgh. It became popular throughout Europe, particularly in Spain where, following the Civil War, the biscuit became a symbol of the country's economic recovery after bakeries produced mass quantities to consume a surplus of wheat.

"María" is a song written by Marcelo Molina and performed by Cuban singer Franco. It was released in 1988 as a single from Franco's album Definitivo and became his second number-one single in the Billboard Top Latin Songs chart, after "Toda La Vida" in 1986. It ended 1988 as the fourth best-performing single of the year.

Valenzuela (/vɒlənzjuːˈɛlɑː/; Tagalog pronunciation: [ˌbɐlenzuˈwelɐ]), officially known as the City of Valenzuela (Filipino: Lungsod ng Valenzuela) (ISO: PH-00; PSGC: 137504000) or simply Valenzuela City, is the 119th largest city of the Philippines and one of the 16 cities plus a municipality that compose the region of Metro Manila, located about 14 km (7.9 miles) north of Manila. Valenzuela is categorized by virtue of Republic Act Nos. 7160 and 8526 as a highly urbanized, first-class city based on income classification and number of population. A chartered city located on the island of Luzon, it is bordered by Meycauayan (Bulacan) in the north, Quezon City and northern Caloocan to the east; by Obando (Bulacan) to the west; by Malabon, southern Caloocan and Tullahan River to the south.
