Chessmaster is a chess-playing computer game series which is now owned and developed by Ubisoft. It is the best-selling chess franchise in history, with more than five million units sold as of 2002.
Robert James "Bobby" Fischer (March 9, 1943 – January 17, 2008) was an American chess Grandmaster and the eleventh World Chess Champion. Many consider him the greatest chess player of all time.
At age 13 Fischer won a "brilliancy" that became known as "The Game of the Century". Starting at age 14, Fischer played in eight United States Championships, winning each by at least a one-point margin. At age 15, Fischer became both the youngest grandmaster up to that time and the youngest candidate for the World Championship. At age 20, Fischer won the 1963–64 U.S. Championship with 11/11, the only perfect score in the history of the tournament. Fischer's My 60 Memorable Games (1969) remains a revered work in chess literature.
In 1970 and 1971, Fischer "dominated his contemporaries to an extent never seen before or since". During that period he won the 1970 Interzonal Tournament by a record 3½-point margin and won 20 consecutive games, including two unprecedented 6–0 sweeps in the Candidates Matches. In July 1971, he became the first official World Chess Federation (FIDE) number-one-ranked player, spending a total of 54 months at number one.
Nicholas Nip (born March 10, 1998) is a United States Chess Federation (USCF) National Master (NM). In 2008, he became the youngest USCF Master in history, obtaining a rating of 2207 at the age of 9 years, 11 months and 26 days, a record that was surpassed in 2010 by Samuel Sevian. Nip was taught the game by Academic Chess when he was enrolled in Kindergarten and was coached by its founder, Eric Hicks (who recognized Nip's potential) and Lina Vark, his wife.
Nip's feat broke the record held for a decade by fellow chess prodigy Hikaru Nakamura. However, Nip's record was not without controversy because matches were included in the rating calculations, prompting allegations of manipulation. Since accomplishing the record, Nip no longer plays chess, and due to his inactivity no longer appears on the bi-monthly top 100 lists for his age.
On April 21, 2008, Nip played ten simultaneous games on Live with Regis and Kelly.

This video's title pretty much says it all. I got checkmated by an opponent who used the Scholar's mate and I burst out laughing during a chess tournament livestreamed at http://twitch.tv/ChessNetwork. So much for trying to crack a poor math joke at the start of a chessgame and sort of being in premove mode. Math-minded chess master's beware! :) Surprisingly enough, the second game ended with me checkmating my opponent on the exact square and with the same piece as I got checkmated in the first game. For whatever the reason, that really pushed me over the edge with laughter. This will likely be the most candid video uploaded to this channel. Replicating such is hard to do. Hopefully it's good for a laugh or two. ★ FACEBOOK http://facebook.com/ChessNetwork ★ TWITTER http://twitter.com/Ch...

I was schooled by the best hustlers back in the day! This was actually in Washington Square Park where the late great Vinnie Livermore used to beat my ass at that same table! (This is a bonus clip from The Tim Ferriss Experiment TV show. Watch the full series here: http://fourhourworkweek.com/tv/)
This $1.1 million rematch turned out to be a media extravaganza on a planetary scale. For the first time ever a machine won not just a single game but a whole series against the world champion in a match that captured global headlines. Unlike Kasparov, Deep Blue was redesigned after their match a year earlier and grandmasters were added to its team. Here are all six games from this historic confrontation "between the world's greatest chess player and Kasparov," as IBM's chairman quipped. IBM declined Kasparov's challenge to a rubber match, prompting many disappointed fans to call Deep Blue yellow. -------------------------- Software: ChessMaster: GrandMaster Edition -------------------------- Copyright belongs to their respective owners.
