Antonio Juan Fargas (born August 14, 1946) is an American actor known for his roles in 1970s blaxploitation movies, as well as his portrayal of Huggy Bear in the 1970s TV series Starsky and Hutch.
Fargas was born in New York City to Mildred (née Bailey) and Manuel Fargas; he was one of eleven children. His father was a Puerto Rican who worked for the City of New York. His mother was from Trinidad and Tobago.
His breakout role began in the late '60s comedy, Putney Swope, today a cult film. After starring in a string of blaxploitation movies in the early '70s, such as his role as Link Brown in the movie Foxy Brown and in Across 110th Street, he gained recognition as streetwise informant "Huggy Bear" in the mid-'70s television series Starsky and Hutch.
He appeared in ABC's All My Children in the mid-1980s as the father of Angie Hubbard.
As a nod to his early roles, he had a part in the 1988 blaxploitation spoof I'm Gonna Git You Sucka, as well as another Wayans brothers "hood" parody, Don't Be a Menace, in 1996. He guest starred in the mid-90s sitcoms Living Single, Martin, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and The Steve Harvey Show.

This year at the Ford Nationals in Carlisle, it was the Starsky & Hutch 40th anniversary with special guest appearances by Paul Micheal Glaser "Starsky" and Antonio Fargas "Huggy Bear". This is a rare opportunity, once in a life time kind of thing and we decided to haul our 1976 Ford Torino to the show with hopes in getting the car signed by the orginal TV series actors. David Soul (Hutch) could not attend due to health concerns which is unfortunate. Sorry if the footage is a bit shaky, I had my mom record it while I was taking pictures. I couldn't do both! I'm not that good! This is just a piece of all the footage I captured at the show which I plan on including in one larger video. Please subscribe to make sure you don't miss it!
