SGI may refer to:
Soka Gakkai (Japanese: 創価学会, Hepburn: Sōka Gakkai) is a Japanese Buddhist religious movement based on the teachings of the 13th-century Japanese priest Nichiren as set into motion by its first three presidents Tsunesaburō Makiguchi, Jōsei Toda and Daisaku Ikeda. It is the largest of the Japanese new religions and holds the largest membership among Nichiren Buddhist groups. From 1952 to 1991 it shared an association with the Nichiren Shōshū Buddhist sect. The Gakkai bases its teachings on the Lotus Sutra and places chanting "Nam Myōhō Renge Kyō" at the center of devotional practice. The movement is involved in peace activism, education and politics.
The movement was founded by educators Makiguchi and Toda in 1930 and held its inaugural meeting in 1937. It was disbanded during World War II when much of the leadership was imprisoned on charges of lèse-majesté. After the war it expanded from a pre-war estimate of 3,000 members to a claimed total of 750,000 households in 1958 through explosive recruitment, which shocked the Japanese establishment and media. Further expansion of the movement was led by its third president Daisaku Ikeda. According to its own account, it has 12 million members in 192 countries and territories around the world.
The Soka Gakkai International (SGI) is an international Nichiren Buddhist organization founded in 1975 by Daisaku Ikeda. The SGI is the world's largest Buddhist lay organization, with approximately 12 million Nichiren Buddhist practitioners in 192 countries and regions. It characterizes itself as a support network for practitioners of Nichiren Buddhism and a global Buddhist movement for "peace, education, and cultural exchange." The SGI is a non-governmental organization (NGO) with official ties to the United Nations.
The Soka Gakkai International (SGI) was formed at a world peace conference of Nichiren Buddhists on January 26, 1975 on the island of Guam. Representatives from 51 countries attended the meeting and chose Daisaku Ikeda, who served as third president of the Japanese Buddhist organization Soka Gakkai, to become the SGI's founding president.
The SGI was created in part as a new international peace movement, and its founding meeting was held in Guam in a symbolic gesture referencing Guam's history as the site of some of World War II's bloodiest battles, and proximity to Tinian Island, launching place of the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan.
Namu Myōhō Renge Kyō (南無妙法蓮華経) (also Nam Myōhō Renge Kyō) (English: Devotion to the Mystic Law of the Lotus Sutra or Glory to the Sutra of the Lotus of the Supreme Law) is a mantra that is chanted as the central practice of all forms of Nichiren Buddhism—Myōhō Renge Kyō being the Japanese title of the Lotus Sūtra. The mantra is referred to as daimoku (題目) or, in honorific form, o-daimoku (お題目) and was first revealed by the Japanese Buddhist teacher Nichiren on the 28th day of the fourth lunar month of 1253 at Seichō-ji (also called Kiyosumi-dera) near Kominato in current-day part of the city of Kamogawa, Japan. The practice of chanting the daimoku is called shōdai (唱題). The purpose of chanting daimoku is to attain perfect and complete awakening.
As Nichiren explained the mantra in his Ongi Kuden (御義口傳; Orally transmitted teachings), a transcription of his lectures about the Lotus Sutra, Namu (南無) is a transliteration into Japanese of the Sanskrit "namas", and Myōhō Renge Kyō is the Japanese pronunciation of the Chinese title of the Lotus Sutra, in the translation by Kumārajīva (hence, Daimoku, which is a Japanese word meaning 'title').

Once again, Max convinced me to make a video for him. This was for Soka Gakkai International, a religious movement derived from Nichiren Buddhism. The goal of the video is to promote study of The New Human Revolution. I decided to try my hand at traditional Hollywood style directing. That is to say, instead of being the writer and director, the SGI members came up with the script and I directed it to the best of my ability to make their writing come to life with my on-the-spot mental storyboards. I decided to play around a lot more with the image this time. Each of the days are color coded as well as vary in brightness and contrast. Everything was actually shot in one day, everyone brought several pairs of clothes to change into. Cast: Son - Max Louie Daughter - Julie Nakamura Mother - ...

If I get enough, likes, shares, dislikes, comments, etc. on this one, I'll make a part 3. "I rescind, recant, renounce, denounce, destroy and uncreate all causal incarnations, causal incongruities, causal incarcerations, causal inculcations, causal incantations/incinerations AKA Nirvanas, and all self induced/self flagellating, causal realities that keep me thinking I need to hire Sansho Shima to fuck with me, in order for me to finally be fully willing to claim, own and acknowledge the Buddha of Absolute Freedom that I truly be, who is eternally endowed with all the supernatural powers of the thus-come and/or the thus-gone-ones, that is too fucking powerful for Sansho Shima to fuck with." -BJOTT FAAHC
SGI Buddhist Experience for discussion meeting 2015.
In two months I'm through the doorway,
Put my guitar on the floor,
And you will sit and tell me,
That you can't take anymore,
And you will sit and wonder,
What I can only speculate,
That time is going to be telling us what we don't want it to say.
So just be with me now,
With your hair wrapped around my fingers,
Where your words turn into whispers,
Where you fall asleep and dream, dream,
That you could be with me now,
As I keep track on my fingers,
Of the cities and the strangers,
Of the pieces of my dreams.
It's been so long since I've seen you,
Almost forgot your face,
And time it brings me full close to,
But it does the opposite for me.
So I've got my hallways and my hotels
And a ticket with my name
It's been too long since I've seen you
And there's so much to say.
But just be with me now,
With your hair wrapped around my fingers,
Where your words turn into whispers,
Where you fall asleep and dream, dream, dream
That you can be with me now.
As I keep track on my fingers
All the cities and the strangers
