Australian paceman Josh Hazlewood's torturing of South African linchpin Hashim Amla continues.

Hazlewood has dismissed Amla five times in five innings this series - the latest on Saturday in the third Test at Adelaide Oval.

Amla had made a composed 45 before getting a faint edge to a Hazlewood delivery and was caught by wicketkeeper Matthew Wade.

In four of the five dismissals to Hazlewood this series, Amla has been caught by the keeper or a slips fieldsman - the other time, he was bowled.

Hazlewood had Amla caught at first slip in the first innings in the Adelaide Test - but then denied the Proteas' star was his bunny.

"I wouldn't say that," Hazlewood said after play on Thursday.

"I've had some decent success against him in this series.

"I have just got the ball in the right areas straight away, which you try to do to every batsman but it's just happened that way."

Amla has made just 98 runs at an average of 19.60 this series.
