The series tells the story of five teenage girls who are chosen to be the new Guardians of Kandrakar,[3] protectors of the center of the universe from people and creatures who wish to cause harm to it. The video footage shows mysterious, hunched figures flying in the air and oddly traversing a grassy hillside. Police officer Gerardo Garza claimed he saw a creature dressed in black, with giant claws inhabiting a nearby abandoned house near a graveyard. Soon Officer Garza discovered two humanoid creatures flying in circles around the cemetery stones. Another badly shaken officer received medical treatment after an encounter with another creature, who he described as a grotesque, black-eyed woman wearing a pointy hat.
4. Bridget Cleary
Many may be familiar with the folk song named after Bridget Cleary, but not everyone knows the real life tragedy behind her legend. A seamstress living in Ireland in the late 19th century, Bridget fell ill sometime around her 26th birthday. Her superstitious and violent husband Michael became convinced that an evil fairy had imbued Bridget with the spirit of a shape-shifting witch. Michael invited his entire village to cast spells on his wife and attempt several creepy exorcisms, including chants, forcing herbs down her throat and even dousing her with urine.
Days after St. Patrick’s Day, Bridget’s body was found badly charred and mutilated.
3. The Witch’s Hut of Amherst
The Western Massachusetts Paranormal Video Society is dedicated to investigations of the supernatural throughout the Northeast. A spooky video submitted to the society just this year will give their investigators plenty to think about. In the clip, a man using a phone camera comes across what appears to be a diabolical witch’s hut, decorated with magic symbols such as bird bones, dead flowers, scary stick figures and a pentagram.
2. The Witch of Black Sabbath
Fans of rock music continue to be fascinated by the album cover of the first Black Sabbath LP, simply titled Black Sabbath. In the heavily-doctored photo, taken on the river Thames in Oxfordshire England, a spooky and green-glowing woman in robed clothing appears to be rising out of the water in front of a gothic cottage. According to which story you believe, the figure is a real-life witch, vocalist Ozzy Osbourne in drag, or according to guitarist Tony Iommi, a Black Sabbath fan and model named Louise who later showed up at a concert and politely introduced herself.
Though the band was soon accused of Satanism and witchcraft, bassist Geezer Butler has said that the group just wanted to make scary music after seeing a Boris Karloff movie…called Black Sabbath.

In 2015, the video team from Ghost Shots released one of the spookiest police videos ever shot, filmed from an officer’s squad car in Puerto Rico at about 4 AM. In the clip, a mysterious young girl is dressed in red and black - and stands directly on top of a blazing fire. After a few tense moments, the apparent demi-goddess spreads her arms dramatically – and appears to levitate on the flames.One Youtuber joked that maybe she just wanted a hug. But we’re betting the officer on duty avoided any physical contact during his truly terrifying close encounter.

Fans of the legendary SST doom-metal band Saint Vitus will likely find this stuff to be fun, if hardly original. Just don't confuse them with Swedish Pentagram lovers Witchcraft. Actually, okay, confuse them if you want: There are plenty of similarities in the rollicking instrumentation and occult lyricism. The 1970s-style metal cross-referencing would make for a smoking double bill, but Witch inhales more Zeppelin with its Sabbath. Also, Witch's Thomas sounds nothing like Witchcraft vocalist/guitarist Magnus Pelander; instead, he warbles like Jason Simon of Dead Meadow or, oddly enough, the Apples in Stereo's Robert Schneider.
The album's best moments result from the torrid dual guitar solos, the well-textured feedback, and how the heavy atmosphere contrasts with Thomas' sweetly nasal howl. And that howl is fantastic, especially when Witch aims for epic extrapolations as on the mountainous "Black Saint". He also contributes a supernatural spark to epic opener "Seer" (those riffs!) and the rising/falling "Rip Van Winkle", which should take 10 years off any self-respecting banger's lifespan. (It is sorta strange, though, that this Dead Meadow-sounding dude is from Feathers and Dead Meadow's newest album was called Feathers. Are they sharing the incense and blacklights or what?)
Renaissance Faire love song "Isadora" provides a pace change with dramatic cymbal washes/crashes and acoustic starlings, but the more expansive stuff works best: "Soul of Fire"'s boogie, for example, is less appealing than rifftastic "Changing"'s glorious bongwater drone. "Changing" also inserts resounding Druidic bell tolls and harmonies dipped in the magic circle and zodiac cloak. And whenever the shit seems to patter into the shadows, a whirlwind of guitar takes off and the boys bong out a few more rounds. These are such rich landscapes, all mossy and backed with an inked sky, it's like they live in an Arik Roper sunset.
Fans of doom and 70s psychedelia have hefty decisions to make these days, so if your budget's limited, here's how things stand on the Sabbath meter: Witch holds my attention more forcefully than the Sword or Pearls & Brass, but less gloriously than Om or Sleep. There's an energy and charisma in this dosage that I find lacking in some of the younger contemporaries. Really, it could be totally nerve-wrackingly debilitating to solo and scream in front of an icon of Mascis' stature, but Thomas imparts himself wonderfully.

Witchcraft
Witchcraft (also called witchery or spellcraft) broadly means the practice of, and belief in, magical skills and abilities that are able to be exercised individually by designated social groups, or by persons with the necessary esoteric secret knowledge. They have been present or central at various times, and in many diverse forms, among cultures and religions worldwide, including both "primitive" and "highly advanced" cultures, and continue to have an important role in many cultures today. Scientifically, the existence of magical powers and witchcraft are generally believed to lack credence and to be unsupported by high quality experimental testing, although individual witchcraft practices and effects may be open to scientific explanation or explained via mentalism and psychology.

Save the Day
"Save the Day" was the first official single taken from Australian rock group, The Living End's debut self-titled album. It followed the release of the "Second Solution/Prisoner of Society" double A-side single the previous year. It was released in September 1998, spending 17 weeks in the Australian ARIA Singles Chart and peaking at No. 22. The song also reached No. 10 on Triple J's Hottest 100 for 1998. The single was later certified as Gold (selling in excess of 35,000 copies).
The single was also released on 7" vinyl however it was a limited release with only 500 copies issued.

Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath are an English rock band, formed in Birmingham in 1968, by guitarist and main songwriter Tony Iommi, bassist and main lyricist Geezer Butler, singer Ozzy Osbourne, and drummer Bill Ward. The band have since experienced multiple line-up changes, with guitarist Iommi being the only constant presence in the band through the years. Originally formed in 1968 as a blues rock band, the group soon adopted the Black Sabbath moniker and began incorporating occult themes with horror-inspired lyrics and tuned-down guitars. Despite an association with these two themes, Black Sabbath also composed songs dealing with social instability, political corruption, the dangers of drug abuse and apocalyptic prophecies of the horrors of war.
Osbourne's regular abuse of alcohol and other drugs led to his dismissal from the band in 1979. He was replaced by former Rainbow vocalist Ronnie James Dio. Following two albums with Dio, Black Sabbath endured countless personnel changes in the 1980s and 1990s that included vocalists Ian Gillan, Glenn Hughes, Ray Gillen and Tony Martin, as well as several drummers and bassists. In 1992, Iommi and Butler rejoined Dio and drummer Vinny Appice to record Dehumanizer. The original line-up reunited with Osbourne in 1997 and released a live album Reunion. Black Sabbath's 19th studio album, 13, which features all of the original members but Ward, was released in June 2013.

The album's best moments result from the torrid dual guitar solos, the well-textured feedback, and how the heavy atmosphere contrasts with Thomas' sweetly nasal howl. And that howl is fantastic, especially when Witch aims for epic extrapolations as on the mountainous "Black Saint". He also contributes a supernatural spark to epic opener "Seer" (those riffs!) and the rising/falling "Rip Van Winkle", which should take 10 years off any self-respecting banger's lifespan. (It is sorta strange, though, that this Dead Meadow-sounding dude is from Feathers and Dead Meadow's newest album was called Feathers. Are they sharing the incense and blacklights or what?) Renaissance Faire love song "Isadora" provides a pace change with dramatic cymbal washes/crashes and acoustic starlings, but the more expansive stuff works best: "Soul of Fire"'s boogie, for example, is less appealing than rifftastic "Changing"'s glorious bongwater drone. "Changing" also inserts resounding Druidic bell tolls and harmonies dipped in the magic circle and zodiac cloak. And whenever the shit seems to patter into the shadows, a whirlwind of guitar takes off and the boys bong out a few more rounds. These are such rich landscapes, all mossy and backed with an inked sky, it's like they live in an Arik Roper sunset. Fans of doom and 70s psychedelia have hefty decisions to make these days, so if your budget's limited, here's how things stand on the Sabbath meter: Witch holds my attention more forcefully than the Sword or Pearls & Brass, but less gloriously than Om or Sleep. There's an energy and charisma in this dosage that I find lacking in some of the younger contemporaries. Really, it could be totally nerve-wrackingly debilitating to solo and scream in front of an icon of Mascis' stature, but Thomas imparts himself wonderfully. Fans of the legendary SST doom-metal band Saint Vitus will likely find this stuff to be fun, if hardly original. Just don't confuse them with Swedish Pentagram lovers Witchcraft. Actually, okay, confuse them if you want: There are plenty of similarities in the rollicking instrumentation and occult lyricism. The 1970s-style metal cross-referencing would make for a smoking double bill, but Witch inhales more Zeppelin with its Sabbath. Also, Witch's Thomas sounds nothing like Witchcraft vocalist/guitarist Magnus Pelander; instead, he warbles like Jason Simon of Dead Meadow or, oddly enough, the Apples in Stereo's Robert Schneider. 5. The Mexican Flying Witches
In 2007, conspicuously around Halloween, a Spanish news network released video of what were thought by local authorities to be genuine flying witches in a remote village in Mexico. The video footage shows mysterious, hunched figures flying in the air and oddly traversing a grassy hillside. Police officer Gerardo Garza claimed he saw a creature dressed in black, with giant claws inhabiting a nearby abandoned house near a graveyard. Soon Officer Garza discovered two humanoid creatures flying in circles around the cemetery stones. Another badly shaken officer received medical treatment after an encounter with another creature, who he described as a grotesque, black-eyed woman wearing a pointy hat.
4. Bridget Cleary
Many may be familiar with the folk song named after Bridget Cleary, but not everyone knows the real life tragedy behind her legend. A seamstress living in Ireland in the late 19th century, Bridget fell ill sometime around her 26th birthday. Her superstitious and violent husband Michael became convinced that an evil fairy had imbued Bridget with the spirit of a shape-shifting witch. Michael invited his entire village to cast spells on his wife and attempt several creepy exorcisms, including chants, forcing herbs down her throat and even dousing her with urine.
Days after St. Patrick’s Day, Bridget’s body was found badly charred and mutilated.
3. The Witch’s Hut of Amherst
The Western Massachusetts Paranormal Video Society is dedicated to investigations of the supernatural throughout the Northeast. A spooky video submitted to the society just this year will give their investigators plenty to think about. In the clip, a man using a phone camera comes across what appears to be a diabolical witch’s hut, decorated with magic symbols such as bird bones, dead flowers, scary stick figures and a pentagram.
2. The Witch of Black Sabbath
Fans of rock music continue to be fascinated by the album cover of the first Black Sabbath LP, simply titled Black Sabbath. In the heavily-doctored photo, taken on the river Thames in Oxfordshire England, a spooky and green-glowing woman in robed clothing appears to be rising out of the water in front of a gothic cottage. According to which story you believe, the figure is a real-life witch, vocalist Ozzy Osbourne in drag, or according to guitarist Tony Iommi, a Black Sabbath fan and model named Louise who later showed up at a concert and politely introduced herself.
Though the band was soon accused of Satanism and witchcraft, bassist Geezer Butler has said that the group just wanted to make scary music after seeing a Boris Karloff movie…called Black Sabbath.
1. The Levitating Witch of Puerto Rico
In 2015, the video team from Ghost Shots released one of the spookiest police videos ever shot, filmed from an officer’s squad car in Puerto Rico at about 4 AM. In the clip, a mysterious young girl is dressed in red and black - and stands directly on top of a blazing fire. After a few tense moments, the apparent demi-goddess spreads her arms dramatically – and appears to levitate on the flames.One Youtuber joked that maybe she just wanted a hug. But we’re betting the officer on duty avoided any physical contact during his truly terrifying close encounter.

The video footage shows mysterious, hunched figures flying in the air and oddly traversing a grassy hillside. Police officer Gerardo Garza claimed he saw a creature dressed in black, with giant claws inhabiting a nearby abandoned house near a graveyard. Soon Officer Garza discovered two humanoid creatures flying in circles around the cemetery stones. Another badly shaken officer received medical treatment after an encounter with another creature, who he described as a grotesque, black-eyed woman wearing a pointy hat.
4. Bridget Cleary
Many may be familiar with the folk song named after Bridget Cleary, but not everyone knows the real life tragedy behind her legend. A seamstress living in Ireland in the late 19th century, Bridget fell ill sometime around her 26th birthday. Her superstitious and violent husband Michael became convinced that an evil fairy had imbued Bridget with the spirit of a shape-shifting witch. Michael invited his entire village to cast spells on his wife and attempt several creepy exorcisms, including chants, forcing herbs down her throat and even dousing her with urine.
Days after St. Patrick’s Day, Bridget’s body was found badly charred and mutilated.
3. The Witch’s Hut of Amherst
The Western Massachusetts Paranormal Video Society is dedicated to investigations of the supernatural throughout the Northeast. A spooky video submitted to the society just this year will give their investigators plenty to think about. In the clip, a man using a phone camera comes across what appears to be a diabolical witch’s hut, decorated with magic symbols such as bird bones, dead flowers, scary stick figures and a pentagram.
2. The Witch of Black Sabbath
Fans of rock music continue to be fascinated by the album cover of the first Black Sabbath LP, simply titled Black Sabbath. In the heavily-doctored photo, taken on the river Thames in Oxfordshire England, a spooky and green-glowing woman in robed clothing appears to be rising out of the water in front of a gothic cottage. According to which story you believe, the figure is a real-life witch, vocalist Ozzy Osbourne in drag, or according to guitarist Tony Iommi, a Black Sabbath fan and model named Louise who later showed up at a concert and politely introduced herself.
Though the band was soon accused of Satanism and witchcraft, bassist Geezer Butler has said that the group just wanted to make scary music after seeing a Boris Karloff movie…called Black Sabbath.
1. The Levitating Witch of Puerto Rico
In 2015, the video team from Ghost Shots released one of the spookiest police videos ever shot, filmed from an officer’s squad car in Puerto Rico at about 4 AM. In the clip, a mysterious young girl is dressed in red and black - and stands directly on top of a blazing fire. After a few tense moments, the apparent demi-goddess spreads her arms dramatically – and appears to levitate on the flames.One Youtuber joked that maybe she just wanted a hug. But we’re betting the officer on duty avoided any physical contact during his truly terrifying close encounter.

Fans of the legendary SST doom-metal band Saint Vitus will likely find this stuff to be fun, if hardly original. Just don't confuse them with Swedish Pentagram lovers Witchcraft. Actually, okay, confuse them if you want: There are plenty of similarities in the rollicking instrumentation and occult lyricism. The 1970s-style metal cross-referencing would make for a smoking double bill, but Witch inhales more Zeppelin with its Sabbath. Also, Witch's Thomas sounds nothing like Witchcraft vocalist/guitarist Magnus Pelander; instead, he warbles like Jason Simon of Dead Meadow or, oddly enough, the Apples in Stereo's Robert Schneider.
The album's best moments result from the torrid dual guitar solos, the well-textured feedback, and how the heavy atmosphere contrasts with Thomas' sweetly nasal howl. And that howl is fantastic, especially when Witch aims for epic extrapolations as on the mountainous "Black Saint". He also contributes a supernatural spark to epic opener "Seer" (those riffs!) and the rising/falling "Rip Van Winkle", which should take 10 years off any self-respecting banger's lifespan. (It is sorta strange, though, that this Dead Meadow-sounding dude is from Feathers and Dead Meadow's newest album was called Feathers. Are they sharing the incense and blacklights or what?)
Renaissance Faire love song "Isadora" provides a pace change with dramatic cymbal washes/crashes and acoustic starlings, but the more expansive stuff works best: "Soul of Fire"'s boogie, for example, is less appealing than rifftastic "Changing"'s glorious bongwater drone. "Changing" also inserts resounding Druidic bell tolls and harmonies dipped in the magic circle and zodiac cloak. And whenever the shit seems to patter into the shadows, a whirlwind of guitar takes off and the boys bong out a few more rounds. These are such rich landscapes, all mossy and backed with an inked sky, it's like they live in an Arik Roper sunset.
Fans of doom and 70s psychedelia have hefty decisions to make these days, so if your budget's limited, here's how things stand on the Sabbath meter: Witch holds my attention more forcefully than the Sword or Pearls & Brass, but less gloriously than Om or Sleep. There's an energy and charisma in this dosage that I find lacking in some of the younger contemporaries. Really, it could be totally nerve-wrackingly debilitating to solo and scream in front of an icon of Mascis' stature, but Thomas imparts himself wonderfully.
