It's simple! Firstly, click on the 'Create Meal Plan' tab. Using the panel on the left, select the number of days you'd like to plan for from the list, for example, seven days. Then choose the courses; main meals are automatically selected and you can add desserts by ticking the box. Now you are ready to create a simple meal plan, just click 'Create your meal plan' at the bottom of the panel.
If you want a more refined plan, you can personalise it by checking the 'Quick & easy' or 'Budget friendly' boxes, adding special diets and allergies, or including or excluding a main ingredient.
Taste Planner syncs across all your devices, including desktop, mobile and tablet, and it works on all browsers.
The question mark means 'tell me more'. We use it on the allergy filters to explain how they work.

You can select up to two allergies when creating your meal plan. This means your results will exclude that allergen and many of its derivatives (we've worked with dietitians to refine a list of exclusions for each allergy). You can read the detail behind our allergy filters here.
We've done our best to exclude all allergens, but we realise that every person's allergy is different. Food labels and ingredients within store-bought products also change regularly. To be safe, please always check the label and speak to your doctor if you are unsure.
If you have a specific allergy that is not catered to by our allergy filter, you could use the exclude ingredient function to remove an ingredient from your search results.
We cater to milk, lactose, tree nut, peanut, fish, shellfish, soy, sesame and egg allergies. But our exclude ingredient function could help you if your allergy isn't on this list.
You can select up to two allergies, plus one ingredient to exclude. However, this may affect the number of results that are available to you when combined with other filters, such as dietary needs.
There are many, and we'll continue to add more as Taste Planner evolves. For now, we cater to the following dietary needs: vegetarian, vegan, lower GI, low carb, low fat, low kilojoule (calorie), low sugar, low sodium, high protein and high carb.
We'll make sure that you only see recipes that meet that criteria. For example, if you select 'Low fat', you'll only see low fat recipes in your meal plan. Our dietitians set the Taste Planner dietary criteria. In the case of low fat, this means there's less than 10g of total fat per serve for main meals.
You can select up to two dietary needs. However, this may affect the number of recipes that are available to you when combined with other filters, such as allergies.
Our quick and easy recipes can be prepared and cooked in less than 40 minutes by someone with intermediate cooking skill.
Each serve of our healthy mains has:
We're working on it! At the moment we offer mains and desserts, but Taste Planner is continually evolving and adding entrees, breakfasts and lunches is high on our to-do list.
It's easy! Once you are presented with your plan, simply click the 'Edit' tab on the recipe you'd like to change and then 'Change'. We'll suggest alternatives that still meet your filters or you can search Taste.com.au's 26,000 recipes for a specific recipe.
Once you've created a meal plan, choose a recipe you'd like to swap with one from Taste and click the 'Edit' tab and then 'Change'. From here you can select 'Add from Taste search' and the entire Taste.com.au recipe database will be at your fingertips. Search using a keyword, then simply choose a recipe and click 'Confirm'.
Your meal plan will include that ingredient as a main feature of the meals. The slider is set to 'sometimes' which means, for example, you'll see your favourite ingredient four times in a 10-day meal plan. Move the slider to the middle and you'll see it seven times out of 10. Set the slider to 'Always' and - you've guessed it - you'll see it 100% of the time.
You'll never see that ingredient in your meal plan. (If you do, it's a mistake... please let us know at planner@taste.com.au and we'll fix it as soon as we can!)

Generally, a serve is 1 cup of cooked rice or pasta. But it depends on how much you like and whether you are trying to lose or put on weight. It's important to note that our nutritional information doesn't include ingredients that are 'to serve' since individual portion sizes vary so much. However, we do offer these guidelines:
Taste Planner draws on Taste.com.au database of 26,000 triple-tested recipes. Taste.com.au brings together recipes Australia's leading food magazines, including delicious, Super Food Ideas and Taste.com.au magazine.
Absolutely! We hope you'll use Taste Planner to become a pro in the kitchen! Here are some cooking tips and tricks to get you started.
Firstly, save your plan. Then click on the 'Create shopping list' icon in the top right of your meal plan and a pop-up will appear. From here you can create a shopping list for your entire meal plan (all days are automatically ticked) or un-tick the days you don't want to include in your list. Choose whether you'd like your shopping list displayed by aisle or by recipe, then name and save your list. You'll be presented with a shopping list that you can edit and find saved under the 'Shopping Lists' tab.
This is a brilliant time-saver in the supermarket! The aisle view adds up ingredients of the same type and sorts them according to supermarket category.
This is the traditional view where ingredients are grouped by recipe and may appear more than once in your list.
Tick the box to the left of the ingredient (or swipe on a touchscreen) to cross it out. The ingredient it will be moved to the bottom of its category.
Click or tap the cross icon to the right of the ingredient and it will be removed from your list.
Yes, you can. To edit an item, click or tap the pencil icon to its right and use the fields that appear to change the amount or ingredient name. The 'Add item' button is at the top of your shopping list, tap or click it and a pop-up will help you add an item with a quantity, plus you can assign it to an aisle.
Your shopping list is automatically saved under the 'Shopping Lists' tab. It automatically saves your edits too.
Of course, you can view all of Taste Planner on a mobile and you'll always find your latest saved plans and lists at hand! Taste Planner works using your mobile's browser, which means it works on all devices.
