Wc3 map scene was actually insane. I mean, people only played DotA, footies, td, and island troll tribes but there were a lot of crazy games out there. I remember eve of the Apocalypse or eota had like 8 maps you could choose from and fully blown AI for heroes when players left that actually wasn't terrible.

That may be how it worked in DotA but that's not all the engine was capable of. Other games did just that using JASS. Some RPGs even had range attacks that weren't even object data but entirely triggered.

I'm not sure what you mean by dynamically but items could increase range of its wearer in WC3. It was just an item with the increased range ability from the ballista upgrade passive.

Edit: or was it the huntress glaives? I think so. Or maybe they both had range modifiers

O yeah but wc3 could do that too but icefrog just didn't do it then. The Age of Myths game and advent of the zenith did spell damage based on stats in wc3 engine.

In the base game int just increased mana and damage. Not sure what you mean.

Not trying to be a hater but Wc3 let you increase range with items or abilities (any ability could be embedded in an item). It was a trick by modifying the upgrade for the ballista which increased it's range. And spell damage scaled to stats was done in tons of rps and some AoS back then using JASS but you could even do so with a script. I don't know that DotA 2 has done anything yet that wc3 couldn't do other QOL like than pathing and control group unit cap and hotkeys, interface, options and such.

Two things; 1) /r/ArchivePorn - We qualified; what's up? Can we be added? 2) Is there any way to combat the spammers from /r/NoSillySuffix or /r/ArchiveFans? The spamlords from the 'photos of whatever network' at least have an optout by ZadocPaet in PornOverlords

A government you are visiting issues you a visa for you to travel there. You don't need permission to leave your own country. But if people are coming over on tourist or temp/short term visas and then are staying illegally then that might be a reason why the US won't consider issuing a visa to citizens of that country since that is visa fraud. Romania wouldn't have any say in it...well other than doing something like putting those people on a no fly list or having them arrested. I mean they don't influence whether a visa gets issued. Though some countries have agreements where people can stay for like 30 or 90 days with no visa (like if you are a US citizen visiting Japan for a week).

Granted I've been pretty out of it for awhile I don't really understand any of this. People are acting like this is an actual democracy? Yes we discuss and vote on things but we do that so we can engage in conversation with one another when making decisions not for the sake of the democracy. There will never be a democratic system on Reddit due to the simple fact that the dude at the top has unlimited power and the impression that everyone is either willfully ignoring or has forgotten that fact is boggling my mind because if anyone should have forgotten it would be me since I've been away for so long. However, everyone involved in this network has been open to the idea so it may not be democratic but it is at least reasonable.

So to those reading this, /u/jaxspider and hopefully /u/creesch, we set the system up in such a way so that we can talk to each other when making decisions so you two should talk to each other (privately?). I've already talked to soupy and jax about it and it doesn't seem like that big of a deal to me. No one else has tried talking to me about it (including /u/lurlur) so I assume they don't care. And, if you aren't willing to PM back and forth butting heads for a few days then you don't really care and should just move on.

I don't really like any of these vote threads since they seem to be making it into this big public scandal which tip toes around the real problem of two people not seeing eye to eye on the decision (unless there's more I'm missing but it seemed like people in the threads who disagree were just doing so as casual passerbys). I think this may be redundant but I never said I was a good writer so: just talk to each other in private until you come to a resolution. If you can't and you've truly tried then let me know.

P.S. I believe this means there will be winter for six more weeks.

AoWIII is great but if you try to have a massive game the time between AI turns is unbearable even with consecutive turns on. Seems like more than 6 AI and it goes to poop.
