Lawrence "Krisna" Parker (born August 20, 1965), better known by his stage names KRS-One, and Teacha, is an American rapper and occasional producer from The Bronx, New York City, New York. KRS-One rose to prominence as part of the group Boogie Down Productions, which he formed with DJ Scott La Rock in the mid 1980s. Following the release of the group's debut album, Criminal Minded, La Rock was shot dead, but KRS-One continued the group, effectively as a solo project. He began releasing records under his own name in 1993.
KRS-One is noted to be a politically active musician having started the Stop the Violence Movement, after the death of Scott La Rock, and the Temple of Hip Hop, as well as addressing political issues in his music.
Lawrence Parker was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1965. Parker left home at 16 to become an MC, coming to live at a homeless shelter in the South Bronx where he was dubbed "Krisna" by residents because of his interest in the Hare Krishna spirituality of some of the antipoverty workers By the time he met youth counselor Scott Sterling, he was also writing graffiti as KRS-One (Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone). Together he and Sterling, a.k.a. DJ Scott La Rock eventually created Boogie Down Productions, releasing their debut album, Criminal Minded, in 1987.

http://www.vladtv.com - KRS-One dropped knowledge on the culture of Hip-Hop in this interview with Jonathan Gasana. He dove into the deep history that played a great role in the development of the internationally popular musical genre and cultural practice, dating back to the days of Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr. KRS explained how White America has always been in control of governing Black people's freedoms, and that even though Barack Obama is the current President of the United States, it wasn't Black people who got him voted into office. He also clarified the distinct difference between Black men and Black boys, who exist within the Hip Hop culture. According to KRS-One, there are no real men in mainstream Hip Hop, and that every rapper involved is only a man stuck in the mi...

As many still question Drake's ghostwriting allegations, KRS-One says he has no problem if rappers get a little extra help with their lyrics. "That doesn't disturb me at all. It diminishes him in front of those that write their own lyrics." During his chat with N.O.R.E and DJ EFN on their Drink Champs podcast, the lyricist explains if the problem is writing down dope lyrics, he doesn't give a "f*** where they come from." Collaborating again with Mark and Vaughn Bode and following on from the 2007 Cheech Wizard Clyde's, PUMA presents the Bode Mids paying homage to cartoon character 'Da Lizard'. Encapsulating Bode's runaway imagination with illustrations featuring on the lining, insole and more importantly the upper, where the character's have been printed and embroidered with exceptional detail. * You cats still worried about chart position
It's the heart that your missin
It's the art that your missin
Just a little something to hold yall over
The Kristal album on the way, word up
When you're number one, everybody come
But when you drop to two everybody still with you
But when you drop to three everybody want to see
But when you drop to four everybody still endures
But when you drop to five people will help you strive
When you drop to six you still in every mix
But when you drop to seven people start guessin
When you drop to eight people hesitate
But when you drop to nine thats when you start to find
That when you drop to ten you start to lose your friends
When you drop to eleven your record stop sellin
When you drop to twelve it's everyone for themselves
So when you drop to thirteen you stop working
When you drop to fourteen no more self esteem
You drop to fifteen cuz you lived and you seen
When you drop to sixteen you now out the scene
When you drop to seventeen you see things you never seen
Like when you drop to eighteen you know what it mean
So drop to nineteen and on then to twenty
At nineteen you lose your honey
At twenty your money to a Playboy bunny
At twenty one things ain't funny
At twenty two you don't know what to do
So you hit twenty three you look for security
So you drop to twenty four no more can you endure
When you drop to twenty five at the bottom you've arrived
When you drop to twenty six you in a old school mix
When you drop to twenty seven until you start steppin
When you drop to twenty eight you start to meditate
When you drop to twenty nine you expand your mind
When you drop to thirty you see it was all dirty
No you drop to thirty two and it occurs to you
When you hit thirty three now you can see
That it's all about skill and a love for the art
Not whose above or whose below in the chart
You got to look in your heart
It's there where you start
I and hip hop are never ever ever apart
