Our CEO and Founder, Michael J. Biercuk, presented our work in quantum sensing for quantum-assured navigation and how it can be used to overcome GPS denial.
GPS has become so ubiquitous in our daily lives that we hardly think about what happens when it’s not available. Analyses in the US and UK have both identified the temporary economic cost of an outage at approximately $1B per day. But the strategic impacts can be even more significant, especially in a conflict. Quantum sensors rely on the laws of nature to access signatures that were previously out of reach, delivering both extreme sensitivity and stability. As a result, quantum-assured navigation can deliver defense against GPS outages and enable transformational new missions.
For more details on Q-CTRL’s software-ruggedized quantum sensing technology, read our peer-reviewed technical demonstration published in Nature: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-023-43374-0
Michael also recently published an op-ed in Fortune about the topic: https://fortune.com/2024/07/18/gps-denial-quantum-tech-aerospace/
