My gf and I went to the exhibition on Saturday 27th. It was beyond our expectations, and we were blown away by the scale, technology, and variety of the exhibits in the rooms...especially the costumes, and final backstage/gig bits. A big complaint though, was the whole thing was unbearably hot. It was about 25 degrees outside, so not the coldest of summer days, but all the rooms that were part of the exhibition was sweltering, with very inefficient aircon. A guy I spoke to in there had a thermometer on him, and it registered 41 degrees C! Everyone was dripping with sweat, and many of us couldn't stay in the rooms long enough to enjoy what was there. I spoke to several members of staff, who were sympathetic as they were suffering too. It appears the extra heat is generated from all the tech in the rooms, plus all the rooms had black material based walls which made it worse. I gave my comments to the team on the way out, and four others were doing the same at the same time. If the aircon can't be ramped up, then just some fans placed in each room would make all the difference. A real shame, as I would have spent twice as long there if the heat wasn't so bad.
