It’s been a bloody good day! Although there’s still a lot of work to do, today was a great day for restaurants throughout the state. Lawmakers had their first hearing this afternoon, with our own Cynthia Gerdes testifying “the law on the books hasn’t been changed in over 100 years; I promise if you support it, I won’t come back to bother you for 110 years.” WCCO-TV’s Pat Kessler snagged Cyn before she blew to St. Paul like a bat out of hell in time for the afternoon testimony. The Bloody Mary Law needs your support…spread the word!

We’ve never been so happy to be #2...Livability.com named Minneapolis one of the Top 10 Best Downtowns! Many of you live and work downtown, but we also want to thank all of you who come from other points all over. And while it’s easy to say “nah, the parking’s a hassle,” the truth is that parking is plentiful and easy to score (our adjacent ramp, for example, is only $5 after 4pm and on weekends). But the most fun is when folks say their visit was exhilarating; coming downtow...n when the area is bustling with a beehive of activity make you proud of Minneapolis…the well-lit city shines, folks on the sidewalks are ridiculously friendly, and the hundreds of DID Downtown Ambassadors on their Segways keep us feeling safe and secure. We love downtown, appreciate the “Best Downtown” recognition, and especially are thankful for the energy YOU bring when you bring friends to celebrate birthdays, special occasions, and brunch with us.

Every Sunday, guests have to patiently wait until our Bloody Mary Bar officially opens at 10 am, the legal time anyone in Minnesota is allowed to serve alcohol on Sundays. Because the archaic 121-year old law affects all restaurants throughout our state, we contacted Dan McElroy, Exec VP of the MN Restaurant Association, last December to seek his wise counsel. Dan has met with a number of legislators and Senator Jim Metzen (our newest... hero!) recently introduced HF 1090, a bill that would allow Sunday alcohol sales to begin at 8 am throughout MN. Next month, Hell’s Kitchen owner Cynthia Gerdes will testify at the Legislature, and because we feel it will have strong bi-partisan support, we’re hoping the bill sails through the House and Senate to allow 8 am Sunday liquor sales starting sometime in May. Rattle your beads and please call your representatives to voice support for HF 1090 so you can have a Bloody Mary (or ANY drink) earlier on Sundays no matter where in Minnesota you live or own a restaurant.

LYCKA TILL! That’s "good luck" in Swedish, which we just learned tonight while hosting the fabulous Swedish girls’ bandy team, in town for the World Bandy Championships in Roseville. The team and coaching staff will join national teams from Russia, Finland, and the USA in this hockey-like game, and we’re thrilled they’ve decided to make Hell’s Kitchen their home base during the week of games. Lycka till, girls!

My group had the walleye hash, porridge, lemon ricotta pancakes and the breakfast quesadilla. Each ...item arrived in a timely fashion and tasted great!
The service was great too. Really friendly and quick.
Be sure to make a reservation during busy times as this place fills up fast. Great restaurant, I will definitely have to come again for dinner.
