RUMOUR CONFIRMED: Would-be thieves have been left disappointed after breaking into the Peninsula Gun Club looking for weapons.

The club was broken into last Thursday, with every padlock in the place cut off.

The club has told 3AW Breakfast they do not keep guns or ammunition on site.

Ross and John spoke to Stuart, a committee member at the Pistol Club who says this isn't the first time its happened, two years ago the clubhouse was burnt down after being torched by offenders.

"There is nothing stored, no ammunition, no firearms, it's as simple as that" he told 3AW Breakfast.
