In this episode, David shows us the 5 things to do in South Beach, Miami, Florida. This is World-Famous South Beach, also known as SOBE! Everyone knows South Beach is the place for shopping, dining, nightlife, and kicking back on the beach.
South Beach is home to an array of boutiques, nightclubs, restaurants, and world- class hotels - a mecca for travelers in need of some R&R;, or to escape the cold weather.
Today I'm going to show you the five things to do in South Beach. We'll be visiting South Pointe Beach, Ocean Drive, one of my favorite lunch spots, then head to Lincoln Road, and wrapping up the day at the one and only Joes Stone Crab.
First up we're hitting the sand at South Pointe, the southernmost point of South Beach and home to some of the priciest luxury condo buildings in Miami.
The pier is a South Beach landmark and the perfect spot to look out onto the Atlantic Ocean. Let's take a better look.
Next up is Ocean Drive, Sobe's iconic street that runs parallel to the shore from 1st street to 15th. Ocean Drive is all about the Art Deco architecture like the Colony Hotel, which dates back to 1935!
While strolling on Ocean Drive you will notice Gianni Versace's old mansion. Unfortunately he was gunned down in front of the home in 1997.
When hunger strikes I recommend a quick and easy lunch at Taquiza on Collins Avenue and 15th street. Miami is a melting pot of Latin cultures, which means every cuisine is easily available. It just so happens that today, I'm craving Mexican!
Lincoln Road is another must-do in South Beach. This pedestrian-only promenade is a mile long and lines with several stores, restaurants, and bars. Here you'll find all the big name stores, as well as sidewalk cafes that are ideal for people watching.
After your day in South Beach you should treat yourself to an unforgettable meal at Joes Stone Crab, a restaurant with more than 100 years experience in serving up the freshest Florida seafood. No visit to South Beach is complete without having a stone crab feast. Joes is open mid October through May.

South Beach
South Beach, also nicknamed SoBe, is a neighborhood in the city of Miami Beach, Florida, United States, located due east of Miami city proper between Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. The area encompasses all of the barrier islands of Miami Beach south of Indian Creek.
This area was the first section of Miami Beach to be developed, starting in the 1910s, thanks to the development efforts of Carl G. Fisher, the Lummus Brothers, and John S. Collins, the latter whose construction of the Collins Bridge provided the first vital land link between mainland Miami and the beaches.
The area has gone through numerous artificial and natural changes over the years, including a booming regional economy, increased tourism, and the 1926 hurricane, which destroyed much of the area. In 2010, 39,186 people lived in South Beach.
History
South Beach started as farmland. In 1870, Henry and Charles Lum purchased 165 acres (67 ha) for coconut farming. Charles Lum built the first house on the beach in 1886. In 1894, the Lum brothers left the island, leaving control of the plantation to John Collins, who came to South Beach two years later to survey the land. He used the land for farming purposes, discovering fresh water and extending his parcel from 14th Street to 67th in 1907.

South
South is a noun, adjective, or adverb indicating direction or geography. It is one of the four cardinal directions or compass points. South is the polar opposite of north and is perpendicular to east and west.
Etymology
The word south comes from Old English sūþ, from earlier Proto-Germanic *sunþaz ("south"), possibly related to the same Proto-Indo-European root that the word sun derived from.
Navigation
By convention, the bottom side of a map is south, although reversed maps exist that defy this convention. To go south using a compass for navigation, set a bearing or azimuth of 180°. Alternatively, in the Northern Hemisphere outside the tropics, the Sun will be roughly in the south at midday.
South Pole
True south is the direction towards the southern end of the axis about which the earth rotates, called the South Pole. The South Pole is located in Antarctica. Magnetic south is the direction towards the south magnetic pole, some distance away from the south geographic pole.
Roald Amundsen, from Norway, was the first to reach the South Pole, on 14 December 1911, after Ernest Shackleton from the UK was forced to turn back some distance short.

After his own, gambling father squandered his college savings, New York good guy Matt Evans moves to the fancy resort Southbeach in Florida, where his former girlfriend Arielle Casta is trying to make it as a model, and gets a challenging job in Elizabeth Bauer's hot night club-hotel as security officer and general right hand, making her son Alex terribly jealous. He is followed by his best mate Vincent 'Vince', an incorrigible flirt who keeps flirting with disloyalty as well, even after he gets employed as bodyguard by the honorable gangster Robert Fuentes, who attracts danger for both friends.

Everyone knows South Beach is the place for shopping, dining, nightlife, and kicking back on the beach. South Beach is home to an array of boutiques, nightclubs, restaurants, and world- class hotels - a mecca for travelers in need of some R&R;, or to escape the cold weather. Today I'm going to show you the five things to do in South Beach. Everyone knows South Beach is the place for shopping, dining, nightlife, and kicking back on the beach. South Beach is home to an array of boutiques, nightclubs, restaurants, and world- class hotels - a mecca for travelers in need of some R&R;, or to escape the cold weather. Today I'm going to show you the five things to do in South Beach. We'll be visiting South Pointe Beach, Ocean Drive, one of my favorite lunch spots, then head to Lincoln Road, and wrapping up the day at the one and only Joes Stone Crab. First up we're hitting the sand at South Pointe, the southernmost point of South Beach and home to some of the priciest luxury condo buildings in Miami. The pier is a South Beach landmark and the perfect spot to look out onto the Atlantic Ocean. Let's take a better look. Next up is Ocean Drive, Sobe's iconic street that runs parallel to the shore from 1st street to 15th. Ocean Drive is all about the Art Deco architecture like the Colony Hotel, which dates back to 1935! While strolling on Ocean Drive you will notice Gianni Versace's old mansion. Unfortunately he was gunned down in front of the home in 1997. When hunger strikes I recommend a quick and easy lunch at Taquiza on Collins Avenue and 15th street. Miami is a melting pot of Latin cultures, which means every cuisine is easily available. It just so happens that today, I'm craving Mexican! Lincoln Road is another must-do in South Beach. This pedestrian-only promenade is a mile long and lines with several stores, restaurants, and bars. Here you'll find all the big name stores, as well as sidewalk cafes that are ideal for people watching. After your day in South Beach you should treat yourself to an unforgettable meal at Joes Stone Crab, a restaurant with more than 100 years experience in serving up the freshest Florida seafood. After reading the reviews I thought I would give it a shot as it costs about the price of a battery for my professional cameras. The quality is amazing but the camera has many flaws and if you understand them you can work around it to create awesome looking videos. The main problem is the focusing. focusing goes off in lighting and when subjects focal length changes. There is no zoom to consider and wide angle is the only angle. Fast panning can cause unstable results, and good lighting is a must as well.
