The rain dampened the cloth, but it didn't dampen the spirits or hair spray of the celebrities who strolled the soggy red carpet in Sydney for the 30th annual ARIAs.
While the arrivals hall resembled a washing machine thanks to the side-ways ran and flurry of colours, some handled it like professionals, others with panache.

Swedish artist Tove Lo's "uterus dress" was the highlight of a wet and thundery ARIAs, telling Fairfax Media it came about as a bit of a joke.
"It's homemade by my stylist, Crap Diem. He asked me, 'can I make you a dress?' and I said 'sure, whatever you make I will wear it,' and he was like 'ta-da' and I was like, 'f--- you... I'm in,'" she laughed.
The idea derived from her logo, which is a vagina, and she shows off via her necklace which she wears with her "feminist" chain.
Asked if she was trying to make a statement, she added: "I guess it's all about trying to embrace female sexuality, which is something I like to promote."
Here's hoping the female reproductive system is next season's polka dot.

The Let Me Entertain You singer is now working with a new stylist, Luke Day, the editor of British GQ Style.
Day is responsible for the loud jackets he's donned on this trip down under. His monochrome look for the ARIA's also doubled as an astigmatism test.
