Suzuki has tackled its S-Cross' biggest pitfall, its lack of power.
The S-Cross range has been streamlined and now offers just the two new models, the S-Cross Turbo priced at $27,990 before on-road costs and S-Cross Turbo Prestige priced from $29,990.
Powered by the car maker's 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine found in the Vitara Turbo, which produces 103kW and 220Nm, it offers a vast improvement on the 86kW and 156Nm generated previously.
Suzuki has also ditched the CVT automatic transmission in favour of a more traditional six-speed auto that sends power to the front wheels.
The Japanese brand has also claimed to have reduced weight of the crossover which, coupled with the new engine, should improve its performance and efficiency even further.
A new front-end is highlighted by a re-worked grille, headlights and wheels which give the car a much more SUV look rather than the squished face of the previous model.
Apple CarPlay, 7.0-inch touchscreen and a reversing camera have brought the S-Cross into the modern age, along with navigation and keyless start.
The Turbo model also gains, as standard, power windows, Bluetooth, 17-inch alloy wheels, dual zone air conditioning and privacy glass
The S-Cross Turbo Prestige model is differentiated from the by its polished 17-inch alloy wheels, leather accented seats, auto LED headlights and rear parking sensors.
