MYSURU: Sadvidya High School clinched the inter-high school KSCA Tiger Cup Cricket Tournament, organized by Cycle Pure Agarbarthies in association with KSCA Mysore zone at SJCE Ground here on Wednesday. All-round show by Sheshank Bharadwaj (73 not out and 4/28) helped Sadvidya seal a victory over St Joseph School by 90 runs.
Middle-order batsman Sheshank scored his unbeaten 73 in just 43 balls, ably supported by opener R Nayan (68) and skipper S Nishanth (29). Sadvidya scored 218 runs in the allotted 30 overs, losing four wickets. Shashank hit 10 boundaries in his innings. For St Joseph, medium pacer Bala Sachith pocketed two wickets, conceding 38 runs in his six overs.
In reply, St Joseph were all out for just 128 runs in 29.1 overs. Suhas showed some lone resistance at the crease by top scoring with an unbeaten 31 runs. Sheshank dominated the bowling camp of Sadvidya with his 4/28 spell, while medium pacer Sujan took two wickets, conceding 15 runs.
Sheshank, with 200 runs and nine wickets in the tournament, won the man of series award, while Sadvidya skipper S Nishanth, who scored 52 runs in the semis, was awarded best batsman of the tournament. Syed Zahur of St Joseph, Abhinandan Prasad and R Nayan, both from Sadvidya, won the best bowler, best fielder and Tiger of the Match Award respectively.
