En esta última conferencia del ciclo dedicado a la Comedia, Dante continúa su viaje con el ascenso a la montaña del Purgatorio, el último tramo que realiza con Virgilio, donde las almas purifican sus pecados. El poema concluye con el encuentro de Dante y su amada Beatriz, quienes emprenden el recorrido por el Paraíso, dividido en nueve cielos concéntricos que giran alrededor de la tierra y habitado por espíritus que se manifiestan ante la visión de Dante como luces en forma de figuras alegóricas como la cruz o el águila imperial. El poeta florentino encontrará, en este recorrido final, a los personajes de Estacio y Matelda, Justiniano, Cacciaguida y Adán, para culminar, mediante la intercesión de San Bernardo, con la contemplación de la visión final, una experiencia mística e iluminadora q...

El "Infierno" de Dante | José María Micó
Dante comienza, en esta segunda sesión del ciclo dedicado a su "Comedia", un viaje alegórico –emprendido en el año 1300– que durará una semana. En su descenso al Infierno, el poeta florentino será guiado por Virgilio, considerado como “el mayor de los poetas épicos y además el más cristiano de los poetas paganos” en palabras del conferenciante José María Micó. Compuesto por nueve gradas circulares en forma de cono invertido, el Infierno dantesco es descrito círculo por círculo, el primero es el limbo y los círculos segundo a noveno albergan a los pecadores, dispuestos en función de la gravedad de su culpa y a quienes se castiga por “contrapaso”. Para el poeta, músico, traductor y catedrático de literatura José María Micó, la Comedia es “el libro más extraordinario de la literatura europea” debido a las circunstancias de su creación. Al análisis de la figura y la época de su autor, Dante Alighieri (Florencia, c. 1265-Rávena, 1321) se dedica esta primera sesión del ciclo. La situación política y la sociedad del tiempo de Dante, con la contienda religiosa entre güelfos y gibelinos, son claves para la comprensión de la obra. El conferenciante se detiene en cuestiones biográficas, como el exilio del poeta o el personaje de Beatriz, y en otras textuales referentes a la Comedia: el simbolismo numérico, la invención literaria de una lengua y de una estrofa, el terceto encadenado, o el origen del añadido epíteto de “divina” –a partir de Boccaccio– que dio título a la obra.

En esta última conferencia del ciclo dedicado a la Comedia, Dante continúa su viaje con el ascenso a la montaña del Purgatorio, el último tramo que realiza con Virgilio, donde las almas purifican sus pecados. El poema concluye con el encuentro de Dante y su amada Beatriz, quienes emprenden el recorrido por el Paraíso, dividido en nueve cielos concéntricos que giran alrededor de la tierra y habitado por espíritus que se manifiestan ante la visión de Dante como luces en forma de figuras alegóricas como la cruz o el águila imperial. El poeta florentino encontrará, en este recorrido final, a los personajes de Estacio y Matelda, Justiniano, Cacciaguida y Adán, para culminar, mediante la intercesión de San Bernardo, con la contemplación de la visión final, una experiencia mística e iluminadora que –en expresión de José María Micó– supone “la unión con Dios, también la comprensión del mundo”.

Dante comienza, en esta segunda sesión del ciclo dedicado a su "Comedia", un viaje alegórico –emprendido en el año 1300– que durará una semana. En su descenso al Infierno, el poeta florentino será guiado por Virgilio, considerado como “el mayor de los poetas épicos y además el más cristiano de los poetas paganos” en palabras del conferenciante José María Micó. Compuesto por nueve gradas circulares en forma de cono invertido, el Infierno dantesco es descrito círculo por círculo, el primero es el limbo y los círculos segundo a noveno albergan a los pecadores, dispuestos en función de la gravedad de su culpa y a quienes se castiga por “contrapaso”. Además, Dante se encuentra con personajes, reales o ficticios, como Paolo y Francesca, Brunetto Latini, Ulises o el conde Ugolino.
