On April 19th, we went Kiran and Nabi's wedding!
We took the KTX bullet train from Seoul Station to Daejeon city. At an awesome 275 km/h ride, our trip only took 1 hour!
Kiran and Nabi had their wedding at The Opera, a wedding hall located near Daejeon City Hall.
Kiran's family from India were there as well, and they were super friendly and awesome. The ceremony was nice and the day was amazing. I even got a little drunk on beer and soju towards the end of the video. ^^
We hope you enjoy this little adventure outside of Seoul to see what transportation was sort of like as well as how a wedding in Korea can be like.

I enjoy doing "video diaries" therefore I decided to upload more videos of places I venture to. I hope to improve over time. Most clips are just random and things I consider interesting or attractive. I traveled to Daejeon to visit my friend. It's the fifth largest city in Korea. I really liked it and loved the underground shopping center. It was a refreshing visit~~

Forgive me... I am still horrible at this vlogging thing, but this is basically what a typical night with my closest friends looks like. I am seriously so thankful that God has brought these people into my life. So sad to think that we'll all part in two months, but at least I can keep these precious memories with me.
My Review on Au Lapin Agile Pizzeria: 3.5 out of 5 Stars
Ambience: Amazing! I forgot to film the inside of the restaurant, but it was beautiful. There is definitely a classy and modern vibe from this restaurant. The music was the only thing that through me off a little. Taylor Swift songs playlist was playing very loudly. I didn't mind... Just didn't think it went with the Italian theme haha
Food: Ingredients were really fresh. The caprese salad was good, but I felt that it needed less balsamic vinegar. The prosciutto arugula pizza was really good... I enjoyed the crust. It was very apparent that the pizza was make in a fire burning oven. The pastas were good and well seasoned.
Price: Pretty affordable for what looks high end! For the 5 of us, we ordered 4 dishes and it only cost us a little less than $10 a person.

Korail (Korea Railroad Corporation), K-water (Korea Water Resources Corporation) and KOMSCO (Korea Minting & Security Printing Corporation) are also headquartered in the city.
Daejeon has 18 universities including KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), Chungnam National University, Hanbat National University, Hannam University and UST (Korea University of Science and Technology). Daejeon has earned its name as "Asia's Silicon Valley" and "High technology city". The city hosted the Taejon Expo '93 and the International Mathematical Olympiads (IMO) in 2000. Several important research institutes are based in the city.
Daedeok Innopolis (Daedeok Research and Development Special Zone) is composed of 28 government-funded research institutions as well as 79 private research institutes with as many as 20,000 researchers. In addition, Daejeon established the WTA (World Technopolis Association) in 1998 with the view of realizing regional development through international cooperation with world science cities. Currently the WTA has grown to have 67 members from 32 countries, and it actively cooperates with many international organizations including UNESCO as its official consultative body.

On April 19th, we went Kiran and Nabi's wedding!
We took the KTX bullet train from Seoul Station to Daejeon city. At an awesome 275 km/h ride, our trip only took 1 hour!
Kiran and Nabi had their wedding at The Opera, a wedding hall located near Daejeon City Hall.
Kiran's family from India were there as well, and they were super friendly and awesome. The ceremony was nice and the day was amazing. I even got a little drunk on beer and soju towards the end of the video. ^^
We hope you enjoy this little adventure outside of Seoul to see what transportation was sort of like as well as how a wedding in Korea can be like.

I really liked it and loved the underground shopping center. It was a refreshing visit~~

Forgive me... I am still horrible at this vlogging thing, but this is basically what a typical night with my closest friends looks like. I am seriously so thankful that God has brought these people into my life. So sad to think that we'll all part in two months, but at least I can keep these precious memories with me.
My Review on Au Lapin Agile Pizzeria: 3.5 out of 5 Stars
Ambience: Amazing! I forgot to film the inside of the restaurant, but it was beautiful. There is definitely a classy and modern vibe from this restaurant. The music was the only thing that through me off a little. Taylor Swift songs playlist was playing very loudly. I didn't mind... Just didn't think it went with the Italian theme haha
Food: Ingredients were really fresh. The caprese salad was good, but I felt that it needed less balsamic vinegar. The prosciutto arugula pizza was really good... I enjoyed the crust. It was very apparent that the pizza was make in a fire burning oven. The pastas were good and well seasoned.
Price: Pretty affordable for what looks high end! For the 5 of us, we ordered 4 dishes and it only cost us a little less than $10 a person.

Currently, 12 national government offices including Korea Customs Service, Small and Medium Business Administration, Public Procurement Service, the National Statistical Office, Military Manpower Administration, Korea Forest Service, Cultural Heritage Administration, Korean Intellectual Property Office as well as Patent Court of Korea are located in Daejeon. You can use subway train inside Daejeon as well, so it's very convenient to trip around the city. I recommend this one-day trip to travelers and residents of Seoul. Korea, the Country of Descendants of Independence Activist from Cuba Azaria Lim was the first student from Cuba to study in Korea. She is a fourth-generation Korean-Cuban. Korea and Cuba do not have diplomatic ties yet, but Azaria was able to come to Korea with the help of her late great-grandfather, Lim Cheon-taek, who made large contributions to helping Korea achieve national independence. Korea, the Country of Descendants of Independence Activist from Cuba
Azaria Lim was the first student from Cuba to study in Korea. She is a fourth-generation Korean-Cuban.
Korea and Cuba do not have diplomatic ties yet, but Azaria was able to come to Korea with the help of her late great-grandfather, Lim Cheon-taek, who made large contributions to helping Korea achieve national independence. During Japanese colonization of Korea, Lim Cheon-taek lived in hardship with his single mother on a henequen farm in Mexico. He did everything he could to help Koreans in Cuba protect their national identity.
He established a Korean school and taught the Korean language and culture to second-generation Korean-Cubans. Lim Cheon-taek also raised funds for the Korean interim government based in Shanghai, China. His final wish was to visit his homeland before death, but he only returned to Korea seven years after he passed away.
He was buried at the National Cemetery in recognition of his contributions to Korea's independence, and now his granddaughter is pursuing her dreams by studying in Korea.

쿠바 최초 한국의 유학생으로 대학에 다니고 있는 아자리아 임. 그녀는 쿠바 한인 4세다. 쿠바와 국교를 맺지 않은 그녀가 한국에 올 수 있었던 것은 증조부인 고 임천택 선생 덕분이었다.
그녀의 증조할아버지인 고 임천택 선생은 한국 독립운동사에 큰 족적을 남겼다. 일제시대 때, 홀어머니의 품에 안겨 멕시코 에네켄 농장에서 힘겨운 생활을 하다가 쿠바에 정착한 그는 한국인의 정체성을 잃지 않기 위해 많은 노력을 했다. 한국 학교를 세우고, 한인 2세에게 한국말과 한국문화를 교육하는 것은 물론 상해 임시정부에 독립자금을 지원하기 위해 모금운동도 열심히 했다.
그의 소원은 죽기 전에 조국 땅을 밟는 것. 하지만 그의 소원은 그가 세상을 떠난 지 7년 만에 이루어졌다. 한국 독립운동을 위해 노력한 공로를 인정받아 국립대전현충원에 묻힐 수 있었던 고 임천택 선생. 이제는 그의 증손녀가 할아버지의 땅에서 교육을 받고 꿈을 키우고 있다.
독립운동가의 후손, 아자리아 임. 그녀가 느끼는 증조할아버지의 고향은 어떤 모습일까?

Korea, the Country of Descendants of Independence Activist from Cuba
Azaria Lim was the first student from Cuba to study in Korea. She is a fourth-generation Korean-Cuban.
Korea and Cuba do not have diplomatic ties yet, but Azaria was able to come to Korea with the help of her late great-grandfather, Lim Cheon-taek, who made large contributions to helping Korea achieve national independence. During Japanese colonization of Korea, Lim Cheon-taek lived in hardship with his single mother on a henequen farm in Mexico. He did everything he could to help Koreans in Cuba protect their national identity.
He established a Korean school and taught the Korean language and culture to second-generation Korean-Cubans. Lim Cheon-taek also raised funds for the Korean interim government based in Shanghai, China. His final wish was to visit his homeland before death, but he only returned to Korea seven years after he passed away.
He was buried at the National Cemetery in recognition of his contributions to Korea's independence, and now his granddaughter is pursuing her dreams by studying in Korea.

쿠바 최초 한국의 유학생으로 대학에 다니고 있는 아자리아 임. 그녀는 쿠바 한인 4세다. 쿠바와 국교를 맺지 않은 그녀가 한국에 올 수 있었던 것은 증조부인 고 임천택 선생 덕분이었다.
그녀의 증조할아버지인 고 임천택 선생은 한국 독립운동사에 큰 족적을 남겼다. 일제시대 때, 홀어머니의 품에 안겨 멕시코 에네켄 농장에서 힘겨운 생활을 하다가 쿠바에 정착한 그는 한국인의 정체성을 잃지 않기 위해 많은 노력을 했다. 한국 학교를 세우고, 한인 2세에게 한국말과 한국문화를 교육하는 것은 물론 상해 임시정부에 독립자금을 지원하기 위해 모금운동도 열심히 했다.
그의 소원은 죽기 전에 조국 땅을 밟는 것. 하지만 그의 소원은 그가 세상을 떠난 지 7년 만에 이루어졌다. 한국 독립운동을 위해 노력한 공로를 인정받아 국립대전현충원에 묻힐 수 있었던 고 임천택 선생. 이제는 그의 증손녀가 할아버지의 땅에서 교육을 받고 꿈을 키우고 있다.
