An entertaining Saturday of footy was highlighted by one of the upsets of the season as Collingwood thumped premiership fancies Greater Western Sydney by 32 points.
The Magpies started the week as $8 chances with some agencies and weren't expected to put up much of a fight given the Giants had won their previous six matches at Spotless Stadium by an average of 10 goals.
And it looked as though it was all going to script at quarter-time as GWS enjoyed a 24-point lead. But that's where it all ended for the hosts.
Collingwood piled on nine goals in the second term to take an 18-point lead at half-time and never looked back as they stormed home to record their best win of the year.
Grundy was the best player on the ground as he soundly beat Mumford in the ruck battle but a close second was Cloke who recaptured his vintage form in a performance which yielded four goals and 12 marks.
The result is a costly one for the Giants who had the chance to re-take second spot but are now outside the top four in fifth spot and could drop to as low as seventh by Sunday night.
The Western Bulldogs capitalised on GWS's misfortune, but didn't have it all their own way against a determined Richmond outfit.
It took the Dogs until the final term, and a virtuoso performance from Stringer, to finally shake the Tigers who led by seven points at three-quarter time of what was a low-scoring affair.
Luke Beveridge's men move up to third spot as a result but will probably be without Liberatore for an extended period after he suffered a rib injury and was transported to hospital.
The other day's results saw Gold Coast defeat the Brisbane Lions in a Q-Clash shootout which produced 39 goals and Melbourne account for Freo for the first time in eight meetings.
