A Chinese-built mall, which is the biggest in Kenya, is set to open in June.
Centum Chief Executive Officer James Mworia says his organization has partnered with Chinese firm AVIC International to develop and construct the Two Rivers Mall project which is a mixed-use development project that sits on 100 acres in Nairobi.
SOUNDBITE (ENGLISH): JAMES MWORIA, Centum CEO
"It's the largest mall in the country so we targeting to complete mall and infrastructure at the end of this month of may and its 60 square feet of developable bulk we have had successful partnership with this Chinese company AVIC and we have various sub contactor from China."
Mworia adds that the project has also benefited the locals.
Out of the 2,000 workers on the construction site, 90 percent are locals who will receive expertise in construction.

Split
China Aviation Industry Corporation (Chinese: 中国航空工业总公司) was a Chinese consortium of aircraft manufacturers. On July 1, 1999, this consortium was split into China Aviation Industry Corporation I and China Aviation Industry Corporation II.
Merge
On 28 October 2008, AVIC I and AVIC II officially merged because the previous separation resulted in split resources and led to redundant projects. The major focus of AVIC is to efficiently develop indigenous military technologies, and to eventually compete with Airbus and Boeing in the civilian airline industry.
