To strip the bootleg LP industry down to its essence, there are essentially two types of bootleg recordings: those that are superfluous and those that are worth owning. Falling clearly into the latter category, Semi-Automatic Records' five volume set of music harvested from the world of Spaghetti Western movies, The Ecstasy Of Gold, is maybe the most essential collection of movie soundtracks I have ever seen. The artwork is beautiful, the vinyl is clean and quiet, and the music...my god, the music...is uniquely magnificent.
