Pauly D

Paul DelVecchio (born July 5, 1980), publicly known as DJ Pauly D, is an American television personality and disc jockey. He is best known for being a housemate on MTV's reality show Jersey Shore.

In August 2011, he announced a pending three-album deal with 50 Cent's G-Unit Records and G-Note Records. This deal was later confirmed by 50 Cent on December 1, 2011. He is also the first of the Jersey Shore cast to get his own spin-off show, The Pauly D Project.

Early life

DelVecchio was born on July 5, 1980 and raised in the Providence, Rhode Island area, and in Johnston, Rhode Island. Pauly is the son of Donna DiCarlo and Paul D. DelVecchio Sr. His mother has origins in Brazil. He has one sister, Vanessa. He attended Johnston High School. He began his career as a local DJ under the moniker Pauly D. One of his professional idols was DJ AM.

Jersey Shore

DelVecchio was cast in 2009 for Jersey Shore. He has stated that his being chosen for Jersey Shore had nothing to do with his music, but that they instead sent him a Myspace message after liking his look. After he sent them his number, "The casting directors called me from LA and they said they wanted to send down a camera crew to Rhode Island to film a day in my life. They filmed me at the gym, filmed me tanning and filmed me going to the club. Six months later they said I got on the show. I never really auditioned."

Pauly

Pauly, a.k.a. The Pauly Shore Show, is a comedy television series on FOX in 1997, starring Pauly Shore. It was cancelled after five episodes, leaving two episodes unaired.

Plot

Pauly Sherman is the slacker son of wealthy businessman Edward Sherman. One day, Edward marries Dawn Delaney, a younger woman with her own son. They move in with Pauly, who makes it his mission to ruin their relationship.

Jersey Shore

The Jersey Shore is the coastal region of the state of New Jersey. Geographically, the term encompasses about 141 miles (227 km) of oceanfront from New Brunswick in the north to Cape May Point in the south. The Jersey Shore area includes Middlesex County, Monmouth County, Atlantic County, Cape May County, and Ocean County. Night of My Life

"Night of My Life" is the title of the debut single for 2006 Australian Idol winner Damien Leith. This single was performed by the final two contestants - Leith and Jessica Mauboy - during the penultimate episode of Australian Idol 2006, and both contestants recorded and had their versions pressed by Sony BMG, ready for the winner's version to be released immediately after the competition.

After Leith won the competition on 26 November 2006, the song was available online through Bigpond Music; Bigpond is a major sponsor of Australian Idol. The single was released as a CD on 28 November. The physical single contained a copy of Leith's original song "Come to Me", which can be streamed from his Myspace.

The single was written by Adam Reily and is the first of the winner’s singles to be penned by a local songwriter.

A music video was shot for the song on 28 November. In less than 72 hours of "Night of My Life" being on sale, the single was certified Gold status. The single debuted at number one on the ARIA Singles Chart on 3 December, while certified Platinum after one week of sales. It was the fastest selling debut single for 2006, and was the most added song to radio. This single was the first Australian act to reach the #1 spot since Youth Group's, "Forever Young" in April 2006. It remained at number one for five consecutive weeks. Despite being released at the end of 2006, the single's strong sales placed "Night of My Life" at number eleven in the 2006 End of Year Top 100 ARIA Singles Chart.
