Dr. Stuart Tyson Smith, Ph.D., (born 1960) is an Egyptologist best known for his reconstruction of the ancient Egyptian language for the films Stargate and The Mummy. He is currently a professor in the Anthropology department at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and his specialty is the interaction between ancient Egypt and Nubia.
