Fulltime wrap: So the Wallabies are where they were this time last year ... the second-best team in the southern hemisphere. However, the gap between them and the All Blacks is bigger and there are some European teams who are no doubt fancying their chances against them next month.
It was difficult to get a read on their forward play today. The scrums were a mess from both sides however the Wallabies were scrappy at the lineout and the breakdown contest was not as ferocious as previous encounters. The defence was great.
Samu Kerevi was the best player on the field, Will Genia was great again and Michael Hooper was a workhorse.
The Pumas remind me a little bit of the Waratahs from 2014. Their possession play is admirable and when they get on a roll they are very hard to stop. But in some ways it is a little predictable and if they can vary their play just a little bit, they will become very dangerous.
They were best served by their scrum-half Martin Landajo.
Come back to RugbyHeaven for Tom Decent's reports from Twickenham.
Fulltime: The Wallabies win and finish second in the Rugby Championship.
80th min: Now it's the Wallabies keeping possession but they evenutally lose it after a jinking run from Quade Cooper results in a knock-on. Kerevi again looked dangerous.
78th min: The Pumas razzle dazzle is their undoing. A no-look pass is swooped on by the flanker-come-lock and sprints 30 metres to score. It's game over despite the conversion miss by Foley.
AUSTRALIA 33 ARGENTINA 21
TRY! Dean Mumm
Back to top76th min: The Wallabies secure a relieving penalty.
Foley kicks it.
AUSTRALIA 28 ARGENTINA 21
73rd min: Penalty to the Wallabies after a great run by Alan Alaalatoa. He offloads to Stephen Moore but there is a cynical penalty at the breakdown. Right in front for the Foley.
72nd min: The Wallabies looked better in attack then but sloppy work at the breakdown sees a turnover but the men in gold clean up and bundle the Pumas into touch.
Leroy Houston makes his Test debut!
Back to topPenalty to the Pumas. Phipps should not have pushed the trainer, but what the hell was he doing interfering with the ball being thrown into Phipps. The Pumas kick the penalty.
AUSTRALIA 25 ARGENTINA 21
Nick Phipps could be in trouble here for pushing over the Pumas trainer who seemed to be interfering with the halback trying to get the ball.
68th min: The Wallabies survive again, thanks to another dropped ball. There's lots of push and shove going on. No punches but probably as nasty as you could get without one thrown.
67th min: Great play Pumas. The Wallabies hold the ball for three phases before hoofing it down field. The Pumas when they kick aim for a contest. The first kick they win. The second they force Quade Cooper into touch. The Pumas on the attack.
65th min: Scrum penalty to the Wallabies. They must keep the ball away from the Pumas, who are great at keeping it and looking increasingly dangerous in possession.
Back to top63rd min: The Pumas blow a try-scoring chance. They hold the ball for 10 phases. Cubelli and Landajo snipe away and slice through before Augustin Creevy drops the ball in sight of the line. Genia off for the Wallabies. He too has been great today.
61st min: The Pumas are slowly building pressure as Tomas Cubelli's box kick finds touch five metres out from the Wallabies line. Wallabies have replaced both props and locks for the final 20 minutes.
58th min: Quade Cooper beginnng to look sharp. He puts Haylett-Petty into half a gap but his offload to Foley is dropped. Not the easiest of passes to take.
56th min: Great play Will Genia. He leaps for the high ball and he if off down the left flank. He dummys to Kerevi and offloads to Hooper who is dragged down two metres short. The Wallabies concede the penalty for going off their feet. Harsh call.
