Muncie Children's Museum Names New Executive Director

MUNCIE, Ind. - Mary Slafkosky has been named the Muncie Children’s Museum’s executive director.  She will assume her new position on December 10, 2007. Slafkosky has an extensive background in non-profit fundraising and development, as well as consumer and membership affairs.
 
Slafkosky joins the Muncie Children’s Museum after serving as the director of development at the Minnetrista Cultural Center.  Prior to Minnestrista, Slafkosky was the eastern Indiana finance director for the Indiana Republican Party until January 2003.
 
Slafkosky is actively involved in many community volunteer organizations.  She is a member of Altrusa International, Inc., Muncie noontime Rotary Club, the Government Relations Committee, the Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, is on the Muncie Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors and is a campaign coordinator for the United Way.
 
Slafkosky holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, from Purdue University, and a Master’s degree in Public Affairs, from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.  She also holds a certification in fundraising management from Indiana University.
 
Slafkosky replaces Jama Cashdollar, who assumed a position with AIG in Charlotte, N.C.
