Young motorcyclist caught riding 200km/h on Hume Highway near Gundagai

A 19-year-old Norfolk Island man was allegedly caught driving 90 kilometres per hour over the speed limit on the Hume Highway on Sunday.

Just after 9am, officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command Wagga Wagga detected the Honda 600 motorcycle travelling 200km/h in the 110km/h zone in Jugiong, northeast of Gundagai.

Police were doing stationary speed enforcement duties when they caught the motorbike with Victorian registration plates.

NSW Police say the rider was stopped and spoken to before he was issued a suspension notice for his rider's licence.

The man was also issued a field court attendance notice for speed/manner dangerous and exceed speed limit over 45km/h.

He will appear at Gundagai Local Court on December 16.
