Mark Hunt wants changes at the UFC – and he's prepared to sacrifice potentially huge earnings to see them through.
The Australian-based fighter has engaged a legal team to pressure the UFC to more strictly handle drug violations after Brock Lesnar's positive doping test.
"I'm going all the way," Hunt told Fox Sports..
"These cheaters need to be punished."
Hunt was furious after learning American Lesnar not only failed a drug test in the lead-up to their UFC 200 fight, but also on the day of the bout.
He is demanding for a change to all future fight agreements for winnings, if a fighter fails a doping test, to be awarded to the non-doping party.
He says his career is on hold while he undertakes the campaign.
"You think this is about money? I've turned down two fights already," Hunt said.
The New Zealander lost the July 19 bout by a unanimous decision.
While Lesnar is facing sanction from the US Anti-Doping Authority after being provisionally suspended, Hunt continues to demand a greater share of the fight's purse.
But Hunt believes he has a higher cause after also being scorned by another American, Frank Mir, who tested positive after their UFC Fight Night Brisbane on March 20.
"This is about what's right," Hunt said.
"I don't understand why they (the UFC) don't do something about it."
"The contract I sign says no doping but how about enforcing these contracts with harsher penalties.
"I love fighting, this is my life and I love doing it, but it's really important to do this."
