Trump hot topic at AMAs
Donald Trump referenced by Green Day, Jay Pharaoh, Idina Menzel and others at the American Music Awards.
The model did an impression of the future First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, for laughs during the opening of the American Music Awards on Sunday night, and now the world waits to see if Donald Trump will demand an apology - if his past behaviour is anything to go by.
The skit was introduced by Hadid's co-host, comedian Jay Pharoah. "Green Day is performing and a white guy is president, it's the 1990s all over again," he said from the stage at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Hadid then chimed in with her "first impression" that she said she was working on "all week".
"I love my husband, President Barack Obama and our children, Sasha and Malia," Hadid joked, with pursed lips and a Slovenian twang, referencing Melania's now-infamous plagiarism of Michelle Obama's speech.
"That was spot on, you know Gigi, you are really going in tonight," Pharoah replied.
Our #AMAs hosts @GiGiHadid and @JayPharoah are holding nothing back tonight. Let's get this party started! pic.twitter.com/w50MYd7nvk

Tomorrow morning @realDonaldTrump will tweet demanding Gigi Hadid to apologize for the Melania Trump impression. #AMAs 😂

He's not big on making apologies himself, but that hasn't stopped the US President-elect demanding the cast of sold-out, broadway hit, Hamilton, to say sorry this week to VP-elect Mike Pence, when the actors took it upon themselves to urge Pence, who was at the show, to govern for all Americans.
Our wonderful future V.P. Mike Pence was harassed last night at the theater by the cast of Hamilton, cameras blazing. This should not happen!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 19, 2016
The Theater must always be a safe and special place. The cast of Hamilton was very rude last night to a very good man, Mike Pence. Apologize!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 19, 2016
The cast and producers of Hamilton, which I hear is highly overrated, should immediately apologize to Mike Pence for their terrible behavior

Trump is also not big on impersonations, which puts Hadid in even more hot water. While he was on his Twitter rant accusing Hamilton actors of "harassment," he decided to also take on Saturday Night Live - the comedy skit show where Alec Baldwin is lauded for his imitations of Trump, particularly during the election.
I watched parts of @nbcsnl Saturday Night Live last night. It is a totally one-sided, biased show - nothing funny at all. Equal time for us?
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 20, 2016
Baldwin is having none of it.
...@realDonaldTrumpEqual time?Election is over. There is no more equal time. Now u try 2 b Pres + ppl respond. That's pretty much it.

Trump has yet to respond to Hadid, but in the meantime his supporters have been making their thoughts be known on the Victoria's Secret's model's take on Melania.
Stopped watching the @AMAs when @GiGiHadid did her distasteful @MELANIATRUMP impression! Melania as so much class & more beautiful than Gigi
— Vicki Clark (@VickiMrsbi) November 21, 2016
@GiGiHadid @JayPharoah @AMAs @ABCNetwork MELANIA TRUMP has 10 times the beauty and class of Gigi Hadid, a washed up model way past her prime
