Tim Treadgold

Tim Treadgold has been reporting on the Australian resources sector since the nickel boom of the late 1960s after a brief, but unspectacular stint studying geology, which clashed with an opportunity to enter the world of journalism. Over the past 40 years he has written for a wide variety of publications, including BRW, Reuters, Forbes, Mining Journal, The West Australian, and Eureka Report, with a special interest in mining and oil stocks. 

If there is one critical lesson from several decades of following the resources sector it is the cyclical nature of commodity prices, and the fact that the so-called super-cycle of the past 10-years was not super, just another cycle, which is down today but will be up tomorrow as the perpetual motion game of supply chasing demand is played out.
