  7. HMoT exhorted banks to reach out to weavers and artisans & give them full knowledge on demonetisation.

  8. Steps have been taken to ensure weavers-artisans do not face difficulty in acquiring raw materials to continue handloom/handicrafts activity

  9. Officials of WSCs and M&SECs will assist banks in identifying handloom/handicrafts workers through ID cards issued to weavers and artisans.

  10. Weavers & artisans will be able to withdraw cash from micro-ATMs through AADHAR-enabled payment system.

  11. Weavers Service Centres & Marketing Service Extension Centres will sensitise weavers and artisans about locations of micro-ATMs through SMS.

  12. Micro-ATMs will be mobilised by local bank officers in consultation with officials of Weavers Service & Marketing Service Extension Centres.

  13. As the outcome of the meeting, banks will deploy micro-ATMs at handloom-handicrafts clusters for withdrawal of cash for weavers & artisans.

  14. HMoT expressed gratitude to bank officials for their pro-active approach & readiness to help weavers and artisans of India.
