The International Space Station (ISS) is a space station, or a habitable artificial satellite, in low Earth orbit. Its first component launched into orbit in 1998, and the ISS is now the largest artificial body in orbit and can often be seen with the naked eye from Earth. The ISS consists of pressurised modules, external trusses, solar arrays, and other components. ISS components have been launched by Russian Proton and Soyuz rockets as well as American Space Shuttles.
The ISS serves as a microgravity and space environment research laboratory in which crew members conduct experiments in biology, human biology, physics, astronomy, meteorology, and other fields. The station is suited for the testing of spacecraft systems and equipment required for missions to the Moon and Mars. The ISS maintains an orbit with an altitude of between 330 and 435Â km (205 and 270Â mi) by means of reboost manoeuvres using the engines of the Zvezda module or visiting spacecraft. It completes 15.54Â orbits per day.

One of the most detailed tours of the ISS from American astronaut Steven Swanson!!!
"This film reveals the technological leaps forward that have enabled the world's biggest space station – the International Space Station – to be built. The International Space Station orbits 200 miles above our heads, hurtling around the Earth at 17500 thousand miles an hour. It is one of the greatest engineering feats of all time. Its crew performs vital experiments that will one day allow humans to live permanently in space. A test bed for future missions deeper into space, the space station could enable future generations to journey throughout the Solar System or even live on Mars. This film explores how the space station was made possible through a series of five engineering breakthroughs. The film features five landmark space stations that have contributed innovations to allow enginee...
2013-04-16 - CSA Astronaut Chris Hadfield performed a simple science experiment designed by grade 10 Lockview High School students Kendra Lemke and Meredith Faulkner. The students from Fall River, Nova Scotia won a national science contest held by the Canadian Space Agency with their experiment on surface tension in space using a wet washcloth. A tour on the inside of the International Space Station - ISS with expedition 18 Commander Mike Fincke. This educational video depicts an inside tour of the International Space Station and hosted by NASA Astronaut Sunita (Suni) Williams orbiting the earth in zero gravity. During the overview, Sunita explains the station's structure which is divided into two pressurized modules sections, the Russian Orbital Segment (ROS) and the United States Orbital Segment (USOS), which is shared by many nations but funded by NASA until 2024. Roscosmos (РоÑ?коÑ?моÑ?), the governmental body responsible for the space science program in Russia and general aerospace research, has endorsed the continued operation of ISS through 2024, but has proposed using elements of the Russian Orbital Segment to construct a new Russian space station called OPSEK. The ESA (European Space Agency) also uses the ISS for research an...
This is the 24/7 Always On, Always Going, Always Proving the Spherical Earth, Amazing and Out of this World ISS LIVE FEED from space! Brought to you by the clowns at NASA! This is actually a little jab at whoever it is running the channel found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGPuEDyAsU8 Who thinks you can call something 24/7 that ends for 45 minutes every half hour. It is a total joke. And while mine may look close to the NASA con job... Mine took 30 minutes to make and a little longer to render. It is clouds from a balloon launch, it is a slow pan across a Mercator map, Curved black overlay and an overlay of the Soyuz. Can I have my $50 million for today's work please?
Extreme ways are back again
Extreme places i didn't know
I bought everything new again
Everything that i'd owned
I threw it out the windows, came along
Extreme ways i know move apart
The colors of my sea
Perfect color me
Extreme ways that that help me
Help me out at night
Extreme places i had gone
But never seen any light
Dirty basements, dirty noise
Dirty places coming through
Extreme worlds alone
Did you ever like it planned
I would stand in line for this
There's always room in life for this
Oh baby, oh baby
Then it fell apart, fell apart
Oh baby, oh baby
Then it fell apart, it fell apart
Oh baby, oh baby
Then it fell apart, it fell apart
Oh baby, oh baby
Like it always does, always does
Extreme songs that told me
They helped me down every night
I didn't have much to say
I didn't get above the light
I closed my eyes and closed myself
And closed my world and never opened
Up to anything
That could get me along
I had to close down everything
I had to close down my mind
Too many things to cover me
Too much can make me blind
I've seen so much in so many places
So many heartaches, so many faces
So many dirty things
You couldn't believe
I would stand in line for this
It's always good in life for this
Oh baby, oh baby
Then it fell apart, fell apart
Oh baby, oh baby
Then it fell apart, it fell apart
Oh baby, oh baby
Then it fell apart, it fell apart
Oh baby, oh baby
