A Borussia Dortmund star dropped, Ronaldo’s heartwarming act, Spurs lose again and everyone knows why, and Falcao back amongst the goals (no, really).
All that and more in today’s UCL Extra Time.
DORTMUND DROP AUBAMEYANG
Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was dropped for Thursday AEDT’s Champions League match against Sporting Lisbon for “internal reasons”.
The 27-year-old French-born Gabonese star was left out of the squad shortly before kick-off in Germany, his side going on to secure their place in the knockout stage with a 1-0 win over Sporting Lisbon.
“It is an internal issue and will remain an internal issue,” coach Thomas Tuchel said before the match.
He refused to say whether it was for disciplinary reasons.
Aubameyang, who has netted three times in the competition and has another 11 league goals this season, would have been expected to start for Dortmund.
The club’s CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke told local television that Aubameyang would return to the squad on Saturday for the match against Hamburg.
“The internal reasons are exactly that, internal,” Watzke said. “I will not say anything. But the good thing is he will be fresh against Hamburg. He will be back in the squad against Hamburg.”
Further reports from The Sun claim that the star forward was seen leaving the stadium before the match with Sporting had finished, alleging a falling out with Tuchel.
That talk will only add fuel to speculation that Aubameyang will leave Dortmund, with Premier League giants Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea all linked with bringing the 27-year-old to England.
On a lighter note, some found comic similarity between Aubameyang’s wardrobe choice and...

SPURS LOSE AND EVERYONE KNOWS WHY
Tottenham’s 1-0 home loss to Bayer Leverkusen has left their hopes of qualifying for the next round in serious jeopardy.
Spurs have only four points after four games, leaving Mauricio Pochettino’s side needing to win their final two games if they’re to reach the knock out stage.
With a win a draw and now two losses, Spurs form in Europe belies their standing in the Premier League where they are the only unbeaten side, and it seems fans know exactly why – Wembley.
The club are playing their Champions League games at England’s national stadium as White Hart Lane does not currently meet UEFA standards as it is undergoing construction.
Despite filling Wembley with record crowds, Spurs have lost both ‘home’ games at Wembley in matches played in front of a less than impressive atmosphere.
If you listen to Spurs fans on Twitter, they seem to lay the blame for the club’s poor performances squarely with the new home ground:

But not to worry lads, in case you hadn't seen, they sold 80,000 seats at Wembley! That's what's important here.— Dream Team (@dreamteamfc) November 2, 2016
HE’S ALIVE!
Falcao is a player Premier League fans will be familiar with, particularly Manchester United and Chelsea fans, after the Colombian’s ill-fated and utterly underwhelming loan spells with the English giants.
The striker is now back with parent club Monaco and, surprisingly, scoring goal – he grabbed a double in the Ligue 1 club’s 3-0 win over CSKA Moscow.
Watch it in our ‘top 5’ in the video at the top of the page.
Here’s how Twitter responded to the goal ‘explosion’ from a player who only scored five goals in two seasons in England:

RONALDO RE-UNITES WITH FAN HE HELPED RAISE FROM COMA
Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was reunited with a 15-year-old Polish fan, who was awakened from a coma by listening to commentaries of the Portuguese’s goals.
David Pawlaczyc fell into a coma for three months after being hit by a car when riding his bike in 2013.
However, using an experimental technique to trigger memories in coma victims, Pawlaczyc was awakened by listening to commentaries of some of Ronaldo’s most famous strikes for Madrid.
Accompanied by his parents Pawlaczyc travelled to Warsaw to meet Ronaldo ahead of Real’s Champions League clash with Legia Warsaw later on Wednesday.
“I am happy to see he feels good. He is healthy and he is better,” Ronaldo said in a video of the meeting published on Real’s official Twitter account.
Pawlaczyc was previously invited to watch Ronaldo in action at Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu stadium in a Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund in 2014.
During the match, things quickly went south for Ronaldo as Real Madrid let a 2-0 lead slip to eventually fall behind the Polish side 3-2.
While Los Blancos would make it 3-3 and hit the woodwork late, Ronaldo may have taken his frustrations of the match out on a Legia defender, appearing to stamp on the opponent.

RANIERI: SCHMEICHEL IS BEST KEEPER IN EUROPE
Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has hailed Kasper Schmeichel as the best goalkeeper in Europe after the Dane’s heroics preserved the Foxes unbeaten start in the Champions League.
The Premier League champions claimed a 0-0 away to FC Copenhagen, with Schmeichel saving a late effort from Andreas Cornelius.
Following three wins to start the group, Leicester now only need a point from their final two matches against Club Brugge and Porto to reach the knock out stage.
Schmeichel’s late save also ensured that Leicester became the first team in Champions League history not to concede a goal in the opening four games of their debut campaign.
After the match, Ranieri was full of praise for Schmeichel, saying: “I love my players and it’s difficult for me to say no. I always say yes, yes, yes. My players are the best.
“It was a very good save, if they score they win the match.
“Kasper is fantastic, I have coached a lot of big champions in goal, Kasper is one of these. He has had two perfect seasons.
“Kasper, this is my second year, has always made good performances. I am very calm when Kasper is in goal. He is strong, assured and commands the defensive line. He is a very good goalkeeper.”
