On Air Care

Since 2004, FOX SPORTS Australia staff have been invited to participate in our workplace giving program, On Air Care, raising valuable funds for the community.

On Air Care supports the following five community partners and we invite you to find out more about their fantastic work by clicking on each of the logos below.

Our five partner charities are Animal Welfare League, Camp Quality, Children’s Hospital, Garvan Institute, and Youth off the Streets.

Animal Welfare League

Animal Welfare League

Animal Welfare League NSW is Australia’s second largest animal welfare charity comprising of animal shelters at West Hoxton and Ingleside and 14 branches of volunteers state wide that care for surrendered, neglected and abandoned animals. They have a team of Inspectors who investigate cases of animal cruelty across NSW under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. Since the organisation’s inception in 1958, Animal Welfare League continues to be a leader in current practice relating to animal welfare issues. They take an active role in government boards and committees, which review, formulate and develop animal welfare legislation. Animal Welfare League rely on donations and community support to continue their operations and always have dogs, cats, puppies and kittens available for adoption.

Camp Quality

Camp Quality

Camp Quality is a non profit organisation that is committed to bringing hope and happiness to every child living with cancer, their families and community through ongoing quality recreational, educational, hospital and financial support programs. Camp Quality passionately believes in the power of fun and a positive atmosphere in helping children and their families overcome the challenges that cancer brings. Camp Quality provides over 240 camps and recreational activities each year that engage over 5000 families across Australia. Camp Quality believes in the spirit and strength of children as well as the healing power of laughter and the family unit.

Childrens Hospital

Children’s Hospital

The Children’s Hospital at Westmead is a leading light in children’s clinical care, children’s clinical research and education. They focus on compassionately delivering the very best care for sick children and their families admitting nearly 28 000 inpatients over the past year alone. Over 50% of admissions are children aged five years and under with the largest category of admissions being children under one year old. The Children’s Hospital at Westmead also prides itself on providing a Total Healing Environment for patients and families. The purpose built facility, colourful artwork, gardens, entertainment programs and special support services make this hospital not just a good one but a great one.

Garvan Institute

Garvan Institute

Garvan’s mission is to make significant contributions to medical science that will change the directions of science and medicine and have major impacts on human health. Garvan strives to enhance and develop research programs that combine fundamental science with strong clinical interactions. Research at Garvan is focused on understanding the role of genes in health and disease as the basis for developing future cures. Significant breakthroughs have been achieved by Garvan scientists in the understanding and treatment of diseases such as Cancer, Diabetes, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease, osteoporosis, Arthritis and Asthma. Garvan’s ultimate goal is prevention and cure of these major diseases.

Youth off the Streets

Youth off the Streets

Since opening in 1991, Youth Off The Streets has grown from a single foodvan delivering meals to young homeless people on the streets of Kings Cross to a major youth specific agency providing a wide range of services offering a full continuum of care. Father Chris Riley, founder and CEO of Youth Off The Streets, has worked with disadvantaged youth for more than 30 years in a variety of roles including teacher, youth worker, probation officer, residential carer and principal.

Youth Off The Streets supports chronically homeless and drug addicted young Australians as they work to turn their lives around. It is their goal that these young people will leave our care drug free, with a high school education, living skills and a full or part time job in hand.
