Strictly Come Dancing star Ore Oduba is swapping his sequins for the This Morning sofa.

The 31-year-old is set to host ITV’s flagship daytime show alongside Holly Willoughby later this week.

He is taking over from regular host Phillip Schofield who has other filming commitments on Thursday.

A source said: “He has agreed with BBC bosses to take some time out from rehearsals to do the show. Everyone is really excited.”

The presenter had previously said how he was a huge fan of the show after appearing as a guest earlier this month.

He said at the time: “Tried to play it cool on air... Now we’re done, can I just say I love This Morning. Thanks for having me.”

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror about getting the dream gig, Ore said: “I’m really excited to be hosting This Morning with Holly. I’ve watched and loved the show for years. For me, it’s one of TV’s crown jewels.”

He added: “I can’t wait to meet the team and huge thanks to Phillip for allowing me to hop into his seat for the day.”

This Morning’s editor, Martin Frizell said: “It was great to see Ore enjoy his experience so much on the show recently, and being such a fan of the show I’m sure he’ll adapt his presenting skills brilliantly to the pace and variety of content throughout the morning. We look forward to welcoming him this Thursday.”

Greg Rutherford was the ninth celebrity to depart the dance floor in Strictly after facing Claudia Fragapane in the dance off.

Greg said afterwards: “It’s been one of the most of incredible things in my life. I’ve been very lucky in my life, I’ve done some amazing things but this is truly one of the best things I’ve done. I’ve much such a good friend here in (partner) Natalie."

Greg’s professional partner, Natalie said; “You are an amazing man, you’ve never had any dance experience and you got out there and you’ve just shown the world that you can dance.

"Honestly this has been the most incredible experience of my life performing and dancing every Saturday night with you; I wouldn’t have changed it for the world. Sorry I couldn’t get you any further.”

Fans of the Strictly star can see Ore make his guest host debut this Thursday from 10.30am on ITV.
