Adele Australian tour 2017: Second show announced for Melbourne

With tickets to Adele's Melbourne show on March 18 selling out in just over 30 minutes, tour promoters have announced a second show for the city.

With Etihad Stadium being able to host around 70,000 people for the Adele show, that means around 2000 tickets per minute flew out the door while it was on-sale.

With demand for the multi-award winning diva so hot, it is likely the second show will move just as quickly.

The second show, for the next night, March 19. will go on sale at noon local time.

The 28-year-old Brit, who has smashed album record sales around the world, will tour Australia in February and March next year on the back of her latest album 25.

She announced the tour via twitter last week.

Melbourne was the first city to get their hands on tickets with seats going on sale at 10am local time, Brisbane followed an hour later with Sydney, Adelaide and Perth to follow.

People jumped on the Ticketmaster website to buy tickets to the first show with some users reporting waits of more than 20 minutes before they found out they had missed out on tickets.

With another 70,000 going on sale at noon, those fans will now have a second chance to see the diva live.
