Nicole Kidman's 'awkward' date with Fallon

Actress Nicole Kidman admits that she never tried to "seduce" talk show host Jimmy Fallon after revealing the pair had gone on a disastrous "first date" on the Tonight Show.

Last year during a segment on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon she admitted to once having a crush on the host after divorcing Tom Cruise, before she married Keith Urban.

After a disastrous first meeting arranged by her agent, a meeting Fallon didn't realise was an actual date and instead played video games and "didn't say anything", Kidman has now recalled she was willing to give the former Saturday Night Live star a second chance.

The star of the upcoming film Lions reluctantly returned to Fallon's late night talk show and accused the comedian of rejecting her again after their initial meeting in 2002.

"We were at David Fincher's house," Kidman said.

"I think it was David's house, and it was when Brad [Pitt] and Jen [Jennifer Aniston] were still together, so it was a long time ago. And you could have asked for my number then because it was round two - well, second chance. And you still didn't ask for it. And you know that's true, so do not pretend.

"My agent had said, 'Jimmy's gonna be there,' and you'll see - he can ask for your number," she continued. "It may kind of happen this way... We were kind of lurking in the kitchen. Everyone went out, and I'm waiting and waiting and waiting. And you're at the buffet, and this is so true and you know it. And you still didn't ask for my number, so you were so not interested."

Prior to the awkward confrontation, Fallon and Kidman channelled Wayne's World and performed a romantic sketch to the soundtrack of Gary Wright's 1975 soft-rock smash Dream Weaver.

Urban then joined the pair on stage after serenading them with the chorus.

"I get it," Fallon said, as Kidman sat on Urban's lap.

"The past is the past, let's leave it that way," Fallon said. "You've moved on. I've moved on. I'm over it."

Kidman and Urban married in 2006 before Fallon married film producer Nancy Juvonen in 2007.
